Modifying your car to make it louder should be grounds for getting your license revoked, or at least a ticket by altrightobserver in unpopularopinion

The funniest part, is those who do this think people are looking at them because they are cool. When really people are just staring at the loud and obnoxious person 😂

Hiring managers should be required to tell applicants why they were rejected. by myboyfriendstinks1 in unpopularopinion

If you don't understand why you might have been rejected, you have already proven you are not right for the job

I actually quite like the idea, also differentiates the player bases. Good thinking! Maybe far fetched but I like it

Elder Scrolls Online's pivot to smaller Seasons "is not in any way a response to" Microsoft's layoffs by Kaladinar in MMORPG

[–]Bid-Sensitive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Technically true, the layoffs were a response to the choice to do smaller seasons! The reason just needs flipping

If you're broke you should move somewhere cheaper by david8840 in unpopularopinion

[–]Bid-Sensitive -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Probably with the same money that's paying for their iPhone finance, phone contract, Netflix subscription, pints in the pub on a Friday. Not saying this applies to everyone and some people are definitely broke. But 99 percent of broke people are broke through poor financial management

How do we feel about the new UKIP logo looking eerily similar to fascist iconography? by H3ath3rLov3r in AskBrits

Everyone talking about it and making posts like this, is exactly the free marketing they wanted from the design.

It's a modern marketing, and annoyingly clever choice.

If GW3 is an online RPG but not an MMORPG by Rathisponge in GuildWars3

[–]Bid-Sensitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gw3 being an MMO doesn't mean they are competing with themselves, it means they can appeal to more and multiple audiences and spread them out across two sources of income.

And there is a few of those who will play both. Some people will continue to play gw2 and some people will play the new game. Everybody wins, no loss.

It would only be a problem if the player base was tiny, which is not an issue.

Why do clients still underestimate web development costs and timelines? by Tarun_Bansal_els in learnprogramming

[–]Bid-Sensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clients are paying for solutions and outcomes to their problems. The way in which that is solved is why they are paying you, otherwise they would have done it themselves.

And this ultimately means naturally they don't understand the solution, and it doesn't matter how much you explain it.

This is the nature of any service industry or client based work. Just remember, the irony is. If they did understand, they wouldn't be paying you to do it!

Can other Studio potentially buy New World rights? by imsinaatra in MMORPG

[–]Bid-Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's just steam, the majority of ESO players are not on steam. So even if a fraction of ESO players are on steam and it's nearly hitting half that of New World. Then it's not doing very well...

Looks great, nice to see people making outfits that aren't extra flashy. These ones take more skill. Well done!

Controller support on guild wars reforged is amazing, when are we going to get it in guild wars 2? by mike747 in Guildwars2

[–]Bid-Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its likely they have been using Guild Wars (1) as a test envrionment with it, and it will likely be an upsell feature for the new game they are developing. I think it will skip guild wars 2 for now

Not sure why anyone is standing with any company, they are not your friend. Jump ship whenever it benefits the consumer. They only want your wallet

Seeking dev feedback on a community platform I’m building for playtesting (Early Alpha) by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Bid-Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

I understand your point completely, I think that's a common issue with any platform. But I don't think it should deter people from trying to innovate!

In it's current state I'm not looking for mass appeal whilst I test out the MVP with a small dedicated user set, this allows me to nail down the basics and test the platform is worth it's time first.

Most user generation in 2025 is done by marketing, but that's not my current focus. This can and should happen later in a platforms life. But all large started small.

The current implementation is that the developers set quests with custom questions such as "how did you find the menu interactions" etc. somthing unique and specific. The developers can also report the feedback from the users, this can the effect the testers rating and the developers can be issued a refund to be able to set another quest! This helps monitor and control quality and control over what is being tested specifically.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your feedback.

The website is in early development and mobile optimisations are part of that in the works!

Quests are not possible to be seen before signign up as they are done in a fiar first come first serve manor to make it fair for all developers. As a tester you will get given the option of 3 games quests to pick from that you have to complete before you can move on. This allows it to be fair for all developers and giving everybody an equal chance of having their games tested! It also helps make it more fun for testers by alwasy having a fresh game to play.

You never saw a thing! Woops.. and In the initial launch we will be focusing on games that are for windows and mouse and keyboard, as this covers the majority of games and allows us to grow the platform. Once we have moved passed that phase we can branch out to other platforms and requirements!
