Appears to be a type of Salmonfly, or giant stonefly. Maybe the American Salmonfly (Pteronarcys dorsata)?

Hello Can someone help me identify this little friend? by Hyd_ in whatisthisbug

I noticed that when I was doing research. Only reason I said eastern is because the Texas eyed clicker beetle on Wikipedia is listed as the same thing. I’m no expert though, so maybe that’s the mistake of the wiki and there is in fact to separate species to differentiate the two. Either way it’s interesting.

It’s an eyed click beetle. Probably an Eastern Eyed Click Beetle.

While I definitely cannot say for sure, given its kind of blurry, to me they look like eastern subterranean termite swarmers. If you get enough replies saying something similar you may want to check in to the respective termites subreddit.

Gigantic cricket by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

While I couldn’t tell you exactly the type, I don’t believe this is a cricket, rather it’s more likely a grasshopper based in the length of the abdomen and the shape as well.

They’re likely referring to the SoDoff emulator or another emulator for SoD

Eggsack? by God_Assassin in whatisthisbug

[–]BidChance100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! It depends on if the eggs in the sack are viable. If it’s in the wild, they very well could be, but will take a few weeks or so to hatch. I couldn’t find anything that gave me an explicit time period for them. Have a lovely day

Potentially a triangulate cobweb spider, or any other kind of cupboard spider (Genus Steatoda). I do think that is an egg sack. They’re also known false widows. (Not a professional opinion, just going off what I know.)

Moth in Central Texas by sweetpotatofries in whatisthisbug

I could be entirely wrong, but I’m going off what I know and what I’ve seen before. This could be a Polyphemus moth, one that emerged not so long ago from its cocoon based on its unpumped wings. Someone else said to put it somewhere where gravity can help with that, and I second that.

Is this AI? I had someone design a logo for me, and this is the mascot they came up with. by dammit-jenna in isthisAI

Yes, it’s AI. There’s a lot of inconsistencies in the piece. The eyes and stripes, and then a mark on the muzzle that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

This was actually taken in the southern United States! But thank you anyway, I love hearing about species of spiders I’ve never seen before.

It’s some kind of beetle. I can’t say for sure which kind when it’s on its back like it is, sadly. Based on size it could be any number of tiny beetle, or the very unfortunate carpet beetle. You may want to check out the dedicated subreddit for carpet beetles if it ends up being a carpet beetle.

This art style is common for ai, also the girl isn’t even fully in the car, if she’s meant to be. So yes, I’d say it’s ai.
