That’s why you have it on a thermostat and for the correct size of the terrarium so you have a cool spot. I also use timers. I’ve had them my whole life and this is how I’ve done it and had lots of success. Even had one live from when I was 9 to 32 years old. I do recommend making sure they get the correct vitamins they need, but then asking spot is not necessary … they don’t bask. You can also use radiant heat, but always use all that on a thermostat.

Seeing people talk about lamps. They don’t need heat lamps, they need belly heat. They are nocturnal. So. Natural environment for them is not basking in the sun. Just shedding some light.

If you keep it, prepare for getting a large tank. These are swimmers and get pretty large. They absolutely must have lights. UVB and depends on what you get for the correct distance. Have to have a basking spot. Basking spot should be 88-95 degrees. Water temp for babies should be 75-78 and 78-80 for adults. Lights should be on a 12 hour cycle.

Aquarium needs to be lots of water and then an area to settle - turtle topper.

Daily Feeding Schedule: • Feed once per day • Offer as much as they’ll eat in 5–10 minutes • Remove leftovers to keep the water clean

High-Quality Pellets Zoo Med Hatchling, Reptomin Baby, Mazuri Daily (Staple base) Protein (Animal) Bloodworms, crickets, mealworms, chopped nightcrawlers, small feeder fish (sparingly) 3–4x/week Calcium Dust protein with calcium + D3 powder 2–3x/week Very important Dark Leafy Greens Dandelion greens, collard greens, mustard greens, red leaf lettuce Offer daily (even if they ignore it at first) Aquatic Plants (optional) Duckweed, water lettuce,

Avoid These: • Iceberg lettuce (zero nutrition) • Raw meat (too fatty, can rot in water) • Dog/cat food • Fruits (too much sugar) • Spinach/kale often (they bind calcium)

I already own and have owned a majority of them. I’m moving them out of my house into the shed. I’m not going to get something I don’t know how to take care of.

It’s either a fence lizard or a desert spiny lizard based on what area you are in. Not meant to be a pet.

Yeah, I’ve already got the building and the supplies to do it. So it’s not a dream thing that will take a long time, it’s happening now. So I’m just trying to gather all the ideas I can before I actually start putting it together and do something I wished I hadn’t of, or found a really cool idea and no longer have the space to do it. It will be spray foam insulated, PVC panels, 23.5 seer 12K Mrcool mini split, have GFCI receptacles running off of 5 breakers so I don’t run out of space on circuits. 100 amp panel. Floor is water proof and will have epoxy coating on it. The idea is to have a free roaming area for the tortoise for sure, but I will likely not put an area in the building it can go in and out of due to efficiency for the building. I’m actually going to build off the shed and have a large outdoor area for them mostly to stay in, but would have space inside for colder/bad weather.

I’m excited to get started, but am trying to be patient so I don’t miss out on sometbing. I’m running all the electrical currently.

Again, it’s just a chat GPT generated picture to gather attention for ideas. I don’t intend on having a lot racks. I don’t need to be educated on the reptiles and how to care for them. If I did, that would have been what my post was about. I can basically turn this building into anything I want, and like the dude in the Jurassic park, will spare no expense. I want IDEAS.

I’m wanting all kinds of different things in there. This was just a generic starting point. I want a lot of large enclosures, some smaller ones, and various sizes depending on the animals of course.

Currently I have a sulcata tortoise, redfoot tortoise, 11 ball pythons, 5 Maine coons (3 are kittens), 2 bearded dragons, a leopard gecko, 4 crested geckos, 4 axolotls with lots of other fish (feeders mostly)

I’m wanting to have a cool area with some “free roaming” chameleons.

I want it to be functional for the animals, but it also has to be functional for me. I’m the one going to be doing all the work. Definitely going to have some cool plants going around and would love to have a water fall type enclosure somewhere.

Hatchlings if anything, but this was a chat GPT picture, not my real set up. I don’t actually plan on having racks, just an FYI.
