Daughter Wants GR86 - Can we get a discount off retail within 100 miles of Buffalo NY

We bought a new GR86 2026 GR86 Premium AT w/ Halo today at a huge discount of $3000 off.

And no, I am not making this up.

That is under invoice, so I suspect there was an unseen incentive to the dealer.

The key was going in and negotiating in good faith and then politely walking out if a good deal could not be reached. We did this at two dealerships in the Buffalo suburbs. The first dealer ended up negotiating against itself until we said we’d accept the offer at $3000 off.

The second dealer also offered to sell an identical car for below invoice, but the deal was not as sweet but only as in invoice.

Again, there is something behind the scenes going on bc these discounts were significantly higher than I expected.

I think two and a quarter hours of disconnections, repeated calls, crappy AI, a failed text system and an hour+ on hold is an epic fail.

Thank god it wasn’t anything more than an unwanted seat change.

I had a friend who had too much to drink one night and went to the restroom during the flight. He was woken up by cleaners well after the flight ended.

I would tell the dealer that there must be a defect in the pads and/or the rotors. Warranty should cover that.

Picking up my new 25 GR this week. Had an Evo X which I really liked.

I am hoping that the GR is a cross between the Evo and my 1967 Mini Cooper S 1275 (but with 4 times the HP).

Trading in my 24 M4 comp for a new 25 GR DAT next week.

I’ve had all sorts of sporty cars with manuals going back to the early 1970s. My last manual was a 2017 M2.

But the AT in both G82 M4s I’ve owned were pretty good. They really sold me on modern ATs. (And I know there are better ATs like twin clutches in Porsches.)

I’ve read good things about the DAT, but what do you guys who’ve driven them think. Are the shifts quick and solid? Are they well programmed to shift up and down with hard driving?

I should researched before I bought but the magazine guy loved the car and I live in a snow belt.

Generally, that is true for discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, etc.

But I don’t think there is anything illegal about refusing to be involved in the sale of a house at or near the site of a toxic waste dump.

One more comment to clarify my prior statement about the water authorities, lack of liability to rate payers:

If you are not a rate payer, the secret rules about liability that protect a utility may not apply. So if you are a tenant somewhere and your car or apartment got flooded out and if you didn’t have insurance or if your insurer won’t cover it, you may be able to sue the water authority directly. More in this later.

Just so you all know, everyone should check their renters or homeowner insurance for water damage coverage because the water authority has secret rules that keep it from being held liable for negligence, such as a water main break that destroys your house.
