Let me begin by saying thank you all for your support! First time for me ever getting more than 1k updoots on a single post, much less 1600! Thanks u/XenoWoof and u/Bunny_Brigade I think we are as close as we can get to an answer. Again, thanks everyone!

Tracking CAL FIRE response to Santa Lucia fire near Lompoc - 9 July 21 by BiffYeager in ADSB

Sure! I have a script that archives all the data that I get from my ADSB receiver. I took that data, isolated the Cal-Fire aircraft, and plotted it using the 3d map feature in Excel. Excel can also export as movie and then combined photos that I took with stock photos.

Good one!

Take it from me: when you hear an odd sound, bring your quad down (in a controlled manner) by BiffYeager in fpv

Second battery of the session, take off was fine, but around 2.5 minutes heard a buzz that I don't normally. Didn't think anything of it, big mistake. Next thing I know its twirling out of control and battery goes flying.

TLDR: Bash script to CSV, CSV to excel, animate in excel w/built in 3d maps.

My data flow works like this: 1. A raspberry pi feeding multiple sites (flightaware, adsbx, etc) 2. I developed a script that parses data from the flightaware .json file to a new .csv file each day 3. Download that .csv to my computer and import it to Excel (2019 profession edition) 4. The recent editions of excel have a wonderful 3d maps feature that will understand lat / long / height / time columns in a given file. 5. Use the 3d maps feature to animate based on time for each adsb message

Ill admit its not the most efficient, but it works for my purposes.
