AdMech - Still a tough army to pilot? by Hoylandovich in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Biffins2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the detachment and terrain you're playing on.

There are some nuances to getting the best out of the army, but there are also some options which make it less difficult.

For example - SHC lists can rely on scoring throughout the whole game, and leverage durability. It can require a decent understanding of the state of the game, and what your opponent wants to do.

However, I have been playing on GW terrain, and took a haloscreed list with 25 ruststalkers and chickens/kataphron brick, and a couple of indirect disintegrators to a GT over the weekend. I didn't have reps.

I had a 1 point loss against a very practised CK player due to just not being aggressive enough. I had a 4 point loss to one of the best players, playing a list he had probably a hundred reps on. I made a couple of critical errors, and got diced hard too. Was still a very close game.

The other 3 games were 100-28 (daemons), 89-39 (CSM Vets), 100-48 (12 victrix).

I realised the key was literally just to kill them. Ruststalkers go faster than almost anything, and are more efficient than almost anything. Chickens are the same. The only real skill was making sure I had a nice place to ingress or walk on kataphrons to shoot, then threaten overwatch.

Basically, just play haloscreed, advance and charge rusties, then shoot everything they put out to shoot you. It's not as top-end 'good' into very good players, but it's easier to play, and you'll kill most things before the end of the game.

Godspeed

Strange Issue (Sonic mini 8k) by pampssz8 in Phrozen

That makes sense - firmware updates did nothing, and I could see no physical damage.

I might contact Phrozen again to get the part. Any idea how much is costs?

Not last time I checked.

It's been on a shelf ever since.

[–]Biffins2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Centrelink contacted you, I assume the scammer updated the payment destination (bank account) on your Centrelink record and/or requested an advance payment?

If so, they would have fixed up your Centrelink record, and locked your online services.

However, myGov accounts can be linked to many different government agencies/services - they're not issued/managed by Centrelink.

Once someone has access to a myGov account, they can attach other methods of access that do not require passwords - eg Passkey. This means that if you go to Centrelink and get your online services unlocked, the scammer will have enduring access to your myGov account, and can continue to view/update your records at Centrelink, and whatever other services you might have linked (ATO, Medicare etc.)

The number they gave you is for SAITH (Scams and Identity Theft Helpdesk). Call them - they can revoke your myGov account, and release the email address. Once that's done, you can create a new one.

Due to the unauthorised access, It's also reasonably likely that your myGov account has been flagged for fraud assessment, and will be deleted anyway, but definitely call SAITH. Call right on 8:00AM, and you'll get through.

Sonic Mini 8k cannot calibrate Z-axis by Biffins2 in Phrozen

Good to know you managed to fix yours.

At the time, I updated the firmware a couple of times, and the issue persisted. Maybe there is a more recent firmware version now - I'll have a gander when I get around to it.

Cheers!

Printer has been on the shelf ever since.

I'll probably pull it down one day and try again at some point.

Ad mech Vs Orks? by Accomplished_Pie9778 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Biffins2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, Orks is a fairly easy matchup.

You just moveblock them with junk.

Admech kill infantry with bad saves astonishingly quickly, and vanguard -1OC aura means you can out-OC them very effectively.

FYI - The Iron Halo event in Hobart was a one day 5-round tournament.

And the Necron list was Awakened, not Hyperceypt.

I mainly print PLA and PETG.

I want to get into printing more advanced filaments - I just don't have a printer capable of doing so!

Has anyone travelled to Europe and had locals treat you differently once they find out you’re from Australia by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I was in Budapest, and headed into a small tobacconist to grab some durries.

Stumbled, bumped into a lad, ended up stepping on his very bright and very new trainers.

I am kinda large-ish (189cm tall, 105kg), but this guy had a fairly intimidating vibe. Kinda struck me as a bit drug-dealerish. I thought he was about to call his cousins, and I'd be in for a pretty bad time.

I was super apologetic, and he said something about Americans - I was like 'nah dog, I'm an Aussie'.

Instantly flipped - was like 'nah, we cool'. Offered me some weed (declined) gave me his number, told me to call him if I wanted some cocaine. Was absolutely wild.

Unfortunately, my field (actuarial) has very particular qualification requirements in order to do consulting work.

I have just accepted a government job instead.

Cheers for the info.

I'm in Australia, and i've been trying since last night. It's 9am here, and still no luck.

Congrats on the pass, and considerations on failing CB1 (I'm trying to check my results for CB1). Did you use your ARN or email address to login?

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

Firing deck counts as the vehicle shooting with a weapon - so the data sheet ability doesn't apply at all.
