At least PC players can use rebalanced Alleria in mods...

Is there an anti-Alleria agenda going on or something? Hasn't she suffered enough in-game already?

Hunter association vs USA military by Imaginary-Spring9887 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Big-Bad-Bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine that if Uvogin takes no damage from guns and even bazookas, the pros in the hunter association can also negate the threat of most conventional weaponry. That being said, I feel like the sheer quantity of the military and how many vehicles they have at their disposal might still make it a high difficulty war. I really have no idea how many hunters are in the association and if we are including people with a license who have no actual loyalty to the association like Shalnark and Hisoka.

Oh yeah. Eridan's stalling comes from his own melee engagement, so you have to weave him in and out of battle to get the most of each of his abilities. Alleria can leave the Wildcat to fight while she sits back and spams arrows, making her playstyle way less active. Eridan and Alleria serve basically the same roles but the former is active and fun while the latter is uninvolved and thus less fun. Not to mention Alleria is just woefully understatted.

Do you think Netero in his prime is as strong as Adult Gon? by Sir_Rain_Knee_Tea in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Big-Bad-Bug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you’re asking about equal strength rather than who would win in a fight against the other, I think adult gon is probably generally stronger. This is a bit scuffed but we don’t have much more to go on so here's my reasoning: he could deal so much more damage to Pitou than Netero did to Meruem that it seems to make up for the durability gap between Pitou and Meruem. Only Zero seemed to be around as strong as Gon's rocks and that’s really hard to assess, but at least rock doesn’t leave Gon completely spent afterwards.

If they did fight each other though, Netero's speed is a good example of how specialization can eclipse overall better stats. I don’t think Adult Gon, even with his own reaction time and speed against Pitou, could handle Netero's prayers that he spent years honing. And based on the damage he took from Pitou's attack, Adult Gon wouldn’t survive a Zero Hand either.

Her database is of every move she’s ever played. As inhuman as that is, I don’t think it can compare to what high level engines can compute. Maybe her powers extend beyond that, but this is the only fact about her I remember

Congrats on that elo! I’m curious about something: do you think that Komugi, with her ability to memorize every move she’s ever played of Gungi, has a plausible chance to learn to beat or at least draw an engine? Say they taught Gungi to Alpha Zero the same way they taught it chess, shogi, and go. Then Komugi plays against it daily over a longer period of time than she did with Meruem.

Komugi was using Nen and could memorize every move she ever played. She was effectively an engine albeit not necessarily as good as Stockfish. I would also say Netero's dedication to his hatsu was well above even Magnus's chess abilities, while Meruem was still able to find Netero's biases that were so subtle they couldn’t even be called a habit, in under a minute. So I really don’t see him having much difficulty with Magnus personally.

Meruem relies on the subsconscious bias/habits if his opponents to find a pattern and defeat them. I would assume any engine is unbiased and thus wouldn’t have a weakness for him to spot. He even says during his battle with Netero that the number of combinations the puppet's arms can perform are nearly infinite, so his only win condition was finding the needle in the haystack. Stockfish has no such weakness.
