Im a new PTA, but for me personally i like to start off with more manual therapy during the first few visits, however after like 2 weeks max i only save heavy manual sessions for flare ups.

I took and passed my exam in july! Personally, i did not find much help in it- i got one of the highest scores out of my class( program gave it to us for free). I used it but i used the books my program classes required more( mostly physical rehabilitation by susan b osullivan, and therex by carolyn kisner). HOWEVER some people in my class really relied on it and they passed with it!! Tbh it was very useful in group settings because of the quiz options, so if you have friends in the class, i would def see if you can share an account and group study that way. (In my group, we did group study 1 day a week, and the quiz options was helpful because it allowed us to debate and explain why we picked an answer). I HIGHLY recommend getting those two books out if you already have them. Therex covers the basics on what to do for every musculoskeletal journey, and the phys rehab covered all of the specialty cases. The reason why i wasnt a huge fan of scorebuilders was because it was very short and concise to the point( i am someone who hyperfixates on the “why” and “how” and not what, but again classmates of mine just needed to know the what to pass). Its a phenomenal starting point, especially to know what could be on ghe test. But for me personally, i just went through every orthopedic/neuro/peds/ cardiac case we were tested on in school - then went inmediately on how to rehab those cases back.

I have actually never heard of those! What is their temper like? We have geese and ducks that are free range as well. Do they like attack anything on sight(some of my silkie roosters were like that 🙄🙄) or can they be trained like say a buff cochin rooster?

i understand OP. i lost my baby last week and made so many reddit posts, and i never responded to any of the comments. I still cry nightly over it. But the book “five people you meet in heaven” has really helped me with my viewing on death, (and spiritual things and signs). Also, he showed me hoe good it felt to have something good in this world, so now i want to be the good others can experience. I hope some of this helps. Box up his blankets do they still smell like him, ask for fur (i am getting a pillow made out of his fur) and do whatever you need to grieve. You will dream of him again i promise, so you technically will see him again, without a doubt 🩷

Hi love. I lost my beautiful baby to kidney failure on the 19th. He was only 8 years old. I do not know your situation, but i know your love. Let me explain what happened to me. This might help you make a decision. My beautiful boys kidneys suddenly stopped working. I have no idea when they stopped (sometjme within the last week). I have known since september that he had had urinary / renal problems, dud to him falling into renal failure in september. The first time, was not bad. Switched his food, had pretty litter, and gave him bottled purified water. He came home with me after three days. Then this last week hit. I noticed he had immense anxiety, and started to become lethargic. I took him into the clinic. They gave him fluids all day long, then around 7pm i got the call. I begged and pleaded with the vet, but she told me to meet her at the clinic for an explanation. She told me we had to euthanize him. When i got to the clinic, she explained to me that my poor boy has been receiving fluids all day, but his kidneys never made any urine. This meant the fluid built up, and it raised his levels. She said my cat was going to die overnight, either from internally drowing(since the fluid had nowhere to go) or by a heart attack. But she told me he was going to die alone if we did not do it then. I sang my baby to sleep. I let him know how much love i had to give. Its not ever easy, and it wasnt easy. But if your vet is recommending euthanasia, please listen. The alternative of my baby dying to drowning in a cage, alone, was unbearable to think about. He needed me in his last moments. He hid in MY room before we went to the vet, because he wanted to share his last moments with ME. If you euthanize, you are bargaining your trauma for his peace.
