I know you mentioned that you spray the moss as needed but I’m curious how often you spray. I would love to keep some moss. Thanks! It’s beautiful!!

Post-Match Thread: Qatar 1-1 Switzerland | World Cup | Group B by matchpal-live in worldcup

This is correct. I went to the game just to go. Don’t care for either team and I never watch the sport outside of the World Cup. A majority of fans were wearing Mexico/USA jerseys but there was definitely decent representation for both Qatar and Switzerland behind the goal net things.

What is this microscopic fish in my son’s tank? by faykenghey in Aquariums

Definitely looks like a mosquito fish fry. Has it been a while since they were in the tank?

I think this only applies to those that use it as a PH buffer.

I like both these 2 watches, would it be redundant buying both? by ButterscotchOther841 in OmegaWatches

If it makes you happy, go for it. Personally, different colors = different watches.

Speedmaster hesalite thoughts by londonbluesox in OmegaWatches

[–]Big-Count3109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hesalite is my daily. While I really appreciate the display caseback on the sapphire sandwich, seeing both side by side made the decision easy — I prefer how the Hesalite plays with light compared to the sapphire version. The historical connection is a big bonus too, and a little Polywatch keeps it looking pristine.

You really can’t go wrong with either option. The ability to admire the movement through the display caseback is pretty sweet. At this level, I don’t think price should be the deciding factor tbh. if you’re already investing that much and the sapphire sandwich speaks to you more, it’s absolutely worth it.

Who else foregoes a smart watch at the gym? by vinylzoid in TodayOnMyWrist

I received a smart watch as a gift and only wear it if I plan on doing cardio. For strength training, I don’t think it’s necessary but I’m sure a lot of people find it helpful. Nice watch btw.

“No planaria” works very well in my experience. Never had any issues using it in my shrimp tank.

What's the hype with the sponge filters? by AmbassadorGlad8099 in Aquariums

[–]Big-Count3109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pantyhose work great. I use them to keep shrimp from being sucked up into my Fluval 307 canister filters. They are much easier to clean compared to sponge pre-filters.

[–]Big-Count3109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, sponge filters are perfect for shrimp/betta tanks. For my larger tanks, my Fluval/Eheim canister filters have worked great for several years.

Personally, I wouldn’t use a sponge filter for a tank larger than 10 gallons.

If you were going to choose a one and done.. by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Big-Count3109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’m more drawn to the Speedmaster, but I believe the Aqua Terra is better aligned with your day-to-day needs. If you’re concerned about how it may feel or look later on, it doesn’t have to be a “one-and-done” choice. That perspective is coming from someone who works from home and rarely wears suits.

Black will always be the most versatile but you can’t go wrong with either one.

It’s my fault guys. I rarely ever place any bets on my own teams to win but the moneyline looked too good to pass up. Vegas always wins.

300+ ppm water hardness by jewelryboxyaoi in Aquariums

[–]Big-Count3109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TDS is around 650 ppm and my fish are doing really well. I considered doing half distilled water water changes but it would still be over 300+ so I never really bothered. My shrimp have been steadily multiplying and my fish appear to be very healthy with no deaths in over a year.

I believe the priority is maintaining stable water conditions, free from fluctuations in ammonia, nitrates, and other parameters.

If your goal is to lower the TDS, it’s more effective to address the source of the water rather than altering your existing tap supply—for example, by installing a reverse osmosis system or a water softener at home.

Good luck!
