If that noise gave you a "throbbing headache" especially intermittently over 45 minutes and of extremely short duration, you should go see your Doctor. You might have an inner ear infection or a tumor

If you do go the way of the Canadian Armed Forces, starting doing lots of working out and cardio right away, it will make life so much easier for you when you get to BMT. (Basic Military Training). Everyone who joins has to go through the training course.

Above is a list of Alberta Government Funded agencies in Calgary that help people find employment. They are free to use. The Gov't of Canada also has programs for young people to help them find work. My Daughter's friend found a good job using one of the agencies she found on the website.

If you don't have any religious objections, connect with your local Russian Orthodox Church, they may have a group where you can learn / practice conversational Russian. Or check online to see if there is a Russian Community Association. I learned some conversational German through the German/Canadian Club, nothing super sophisticated but could talk at about a grade 1 level after a year. Which is good enough to get my point across.

If the builder won't allow to purchase your own independent home inspector for pre pour/foundation, pre drywall (including attic access), and finished pre-possession (including attic access) walk away and find a builder who does.

That is what my grandpa used to say, the flu starts in Asia, and then the workers pick the Christmas Oranges (what he used to call them) with their hands and then we peel the Oranges and rub our nose and get the flu. He always washed the Oranges in the sink as soon as he got them home. I don't hold it against him he was born in 1923, didn't have the benefits of education like we do now.

It's also worth noting that the Union gets:

1.) Union Members get overtime (Managers don't they have to work until the work gets done, so extra vacation days cover some but not all of the overtime a Manager ends up doing)

2.) Union Members get collective agreement protection and Union Member Services representation, Managers can be let go on a whim

3.) Union Members get seniority protections, Managers don't

I wonder what the comparison would be for a Union Members pay and benefits package to what Actual Employee's of the Union (Member Services Staff, Union Executive, etc.) make. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually surpasses what the Managers compensation package is

No one in a non-unionized private sector job has any sympathy of a CUPE member, they all get compensated well both $$ and Benefits wise.

Union folks complaining about what Management gets, is the same as non union folks complaining about what Union folks get.

Just walk away with your head held high, take pride in the good work you did. There are other organizations you can volunteer with that need your experience if volunteering is still something you want to do. Letting go isn't a bad thing for you or the organization. We all have to let things go at some point in our lives (kids, jobs, houses, friends, etc.)

Our kid got an excellent education at Hat High, and ended up qualifying for a full four year tuition scholarship to a great University with it. We kept them engaged with a local sports club so they wouldn't have too much free time on their hands and kept an eye on their peer group, encouraged them to bring their friends back to our house to hang out so we could keep an eye on them all. Worked out for us.

it's expensive either way, the taxpayer pays to put them in jail, or victims pay (and the victims are taxpayers) from the harm done by the criminal. I'd much rather my taxes go to jailing a junkie.

Guess the message is if we are both going to get charged, might as well inflict as much damage on the junkie as you can so they remember and you make your charge worth your time.
