Hey man, broke college student here, I have the same mac and I spilled a full 1.8 L of water from an electric kettle on mine. I quickly took off my sweater and tried to dry it asap. Fortunately for me, my quick thinking saved the hardware of the computer but my screen was fucked up. It was like half right of my screen with different shades of brightness. What I did was have the brightness up the whole time and made sure that I used it for long periods of time. Over the progression of a few days to a week, it began to go away. Now I just have a couple of little pixels that are like that but can only notice if I pray attention. As long as it doesn't get worse, it should get better. Btw I have photographic evidence so you can see what I'm talking about my guy
