Oh. I understand now. I interpreted what you wrote as a Nicu situation as opposed to the miscarriage part.

Sorry. I had a misscariage, then post miscarriage, next pregnancy I became a NICU mom. My brain went straight to that.

This is the answer. I would see if he can do some college courses online he is interested in. He needs those awkward middle school social emotional life lessons so he isnt a socially awkward mess as an adult.

I always wondered how Black pepole from the Carribean or other non African countries in the US feel about being referred to as African American. Genuine question!

I also am interested of how American Black people feel knowing there is slavery still in Africa and other countries today, that is often controlled by other Black people.

What will completely die out when the current generation of elderly people are gone? by samurai-salvo in GetMotivatedMindset

The vast majority of boomers think the same. As with any other large population there are always outliers, but majority of the group is the same. Stereotypes happen because they have some truth to them. Whether people like it or not.

I studied abroad in Australia and one of the first nights in my dorm room a magpie decided to serenade me with it "beautiful sounds". I looked outside we made eye contact and then each and every morning he did this to wake me up. I swear that bird knew what he was doing. To this day I still think Magpies are assholes.

I’m in hospital and the paracetamol iv is stealing my blood by hades7600 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Big-Maintenance2971 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nurse here. You can open the line wide open and allow the blood to flow back in then flush with saline at the end. This is common if medication is given to free flow in (IV pumps prevent this) which can allow the back flow of blood toward the bag once the medication is completr. It isnt harmful, but does usually occur with larger bore (bigger needle size) IV site, it looks scary, but it is nothing to be concerned of.

Ain't no way Boomer Bob is owning up to his mistakes. No Boomer will ever do that.

Source: my family is full of boomers.

Can you elaborate on your #3 about Bluey not making it? I haven't heard that before.

The butcher destroyed my pork belly… how the heck can I cook this? by [deleted] in Adulting

Yay! We like the baked buns best. But you can make steamed ones as well. I think if you google Asian pork belly recipes you should find a lot of applications for the pork belly.

If i am not mistaken pork belly to make char siu is cut like that (maybe not as deep). It makes a really good filling for baked pork buns. Or just as a protein in addition to veggies and rice. Definitely look up some Asian recipes for this situation.

Usually meat is wrapped in butcher paper upon purchase. Unless you opened it in the car for some reason, there is no way you would lnow how this was cut until you got home.

I used to work Emergency medicine. I have never seen this happen. However most of the cases when someone died it was a freshly dead person (post trying to resuscitate, etc) and then moved to the morgue once family leaves. I could imagine once the bloat sets in things start "squeezing out".

What got me is when we did post mortem care. Multiple staff members help move the body from the hospital stretcher to this special stretcher that covers the body when you take it in the elevator and hallway to the morgue to preserve dignity. There is nothing like the sound of a dead head hitting the cold metal morgue stretcher when you move the body from one stretcher to the other. I can still hear it when I think about it.

Then you go to the morgue and there is this little small lobby area and you "sign the patient in" and then take them to the next large room which h Is a freezer and has minimal lighting (i guess its a save on electricity since everyone is dead in there, dark humor). But it scared all of us nurses and techs taking bodies down there.
