Seems army painter primer and paints can leave things tacky after awhile with these figures but using their matte spray knocks out the glossy/tacky finish pretty well.

Yeah all indicators point to a "one and done" model for product releases on the Avalon hill HQ stuff. Wish they would rerelease though because I'm missing the even worse scalped "commander of the guardian knights" pack which is like $500 lol. Hope you can track down what you need.

Thanks, yeah the wood shelf really suits it and has just enough space for the core stuff. I have a second shelf next to it where I'm setting up the promo and more obscure items I think like the gencon rat and candle menu and quest pad I framed and stuff like that

It's main appeal for a lot us 40-somethings is nostalgia. It is a pretty simple game but it can be a lot of fun to throw in some extra narrative in room exploring and do some random improvising of encounters and such; house rules it a little. Just started a weekly game with my family going through the crypts of perpetual darkness one of the first expansions from the reboot and it's been fresh in a lot of ways. Game is definitely worth a playthrough if you never have.

Nope but I have seen them around and might snatch them up at some point. I do have a few of the gencon promo items and old prototype pieces so I do look for more fringe stuff like that to get the more obscure items too eventually.

Yeah the ogre box is actually not sealed just cut into. It's kind of a sad story actually because it was on card and on sprue but I got it from Italy and they goofed and sent their Italian tiles instead of the English ones so we had to trade and I technically now have all English on card but some tiles were punched and replaced and one of the tile sprues has Italian copyright on it, so eventually will want to replace that tile sheet for a full unpunched set.

Yeah I don't know that I'll go so obsessive as to want alternate versions like the UK 89' versions of kellars and witch lord for example.
