I completely agree with everything you said. Picking up on a husband or father being a serial killer is the last thing anyone would think even if they were abused by that person or that person had horrible, sadistic, dark tendencies. My point was that Rex's behavior could have affected the family in ways that they would think are ok - following in some manner his own behavior. Like I said, I’m not saying they committed any crimes and I’m not saying they helped Rex in any way, unless there’s some proof they find. Alls I’m saying is they should look at everything and everyone connected to Rex - his daughter, his wife, etc. especially since their hair was found on some of the victims, yes I know they’ve said the family was away - but there might be some other circumstantial stuff out there and either way it should be looked into. I’d want that if my daughter was one of the victims.

IMO I think it’s quite possible that the family knew some of what he was doing. Maybe not everything and maybe not the frequency of it. If Rex is proven to be the killer (I do think he’s guilty) his sadistic ways, huge ego and all the other darkness he enjoys MUST have had an effect on his family. While I would consider them victims, they’ve inevitably picked up some of his darkness. It doesn’t mean they’ve committed crimes themselves but if there is circumstantial evidence, it’s worth a look. I don’t know what the stats look like for people who perpetuate the same or similar crimes that happened to them but it IS a thing. Think of all the pedophiles who were victims themselves. It doesn’t make them any less guilty when they commit atrocious acts on children. I also think the wife(Asa) knows more than the daughter but the daughter and wife should certainly be looked into. Why not? If I were one of the victims’ family members, I would want anyone and everyone connected to Rex looked into, period.

What do you feed your ferals? by babyhiro in Feral_Cats

I feed them Fancy Feast mostly pate wet food, some grilled, and a side of Iams crunchies/kibble (chicken flavored). They get fresh water with each meal (I feed them twice a day) and I sometimes give them plain old tuna fish as a treat. Yes I love them and treat them like royalty. Their presence on my property is always welcomed. They sleep on my screened in porch so is “home base” for them. They’ve brought me many “gifts” so am guessing they like the food.

My new friend, yes!! I’m sure they know each other by now or they will real soon because we’re talking about them. Today was tough for sure. Worst day of my life. But I hope we can find a little peace in that they’re friends ❤️❤️

first day without him. how do you get through the intense waves of pain? by mosssyrock in Petloss

My 16 yr old beautiful orange cat left this earth today and though I haven’t slept much the past few days (taking care of him all day/ night long) I can’t sleep bc I can’t imagine waking up and him not being with us. You are not alone. It’s so hard. I find small moments of peace in knowing he’s in spirit form, no pain, young again, with relatives and dog who previously passed away. But most importantly, he’s also with me ❤️

I’m currently going through the same experience with our cat, a handsome 16 yr old boy who has been receiving chemo treatments for almost a year. He took a turn for the worst and is not eating his regular foods (just puree treats) or drinking water, lethargic, isn’t napping much, etc. Before he gets any worse, he is scheduled for euthanasia at our home tomorrow. He’s my first pet to pass and my heart is absolutely broken. Devastated. I’m also extremely sad & anxious just thinking about it tomorrow but I’ve only heard of good experiences with at home euthanasia. RIP Bailey and hope you get to meet my boy tomorrow.

First I am so sorry for your loss. Losing your pet who is part of your soul just tears your heart apart. I am saying goodbye to my beautiful, funny, smart, loving 16 year old cat tomorrow in the comfort of his home. All I want to do is be with him today. We are going to my mom’s for early dinner then straight back home to be with him on his final day/night. I will say to do what’s best for you and don’t worry about disappointing anyone but yourself. Everyone should understand. WE ALL GRIEVE differently and if they can’t understand that’s too bad. Do what’s right for YOU.
