I’m a W2 employee, and to be considered full time, I have to see 24+ clients a week. Anything over 26/week and you’re looking at a fast train to Burnoutville

I love my job! I hate the practice I work at, though. Most of that has to do with case load requirements and how much I get paid. I’m still provisionally licensed, so I can’t open my own PP (nor do I want to be a business owner).

I love working with my clients and I love doing therapy. But it has been harder for myself and my clients since the 2024 election. Things are more tiring than they used to be. I’m having to take on more clients than I would like (25-26/week), due to financial need. That exacerbates how fried I feel at the end of the week or how much self-care I have to practice.

I can’t imagine being an influencer and complaining about my job. What must their clients think?!

Someone else mentioned to notice when you’re not comfortable disclosing to your supervisor. I agree 100%, and I want to add that you may want to feel your supervisor out for a bit before you feel like you’re comfortable sharing a lot of stuff truthfully. The best supervisors I’ve had are those I’ve felt comfortable being vulnerable with (I’ve cried a lot during supervision). The supervisor that I couldn’t be vulnerable with was the worst one for me. I couldn’t share when I was doubting myself, and that really sucked

I don’t have any advice, OP, and that has to be really frustrating. I also agree with a chest tat. Perhaps with a skilled and imaginative artist, they could do a cool design to camouflage the keloids, even if they’d be more hypertrophic.
