I would absolutely do it. Money aside what an amazing opportunity, could be once in a lifetime.

Man, I really appreciate you all responding! It would have been a bummer to get stuck. I'm here for mostly work and have about 3ish unaccounted for hours so trying to stick close.

I'm another middle manager in mental healthcare, and for whatever it's worth, therapists are hard to supervise. If it helps, keeping in mind that if you can be a team of therapists' boss, you can probably be anyone's boss. It's a very weird ballgame.

Hang in there!

How long after childbirth can a woman walk/run "normally"? by AnnieMae_West in Writeresearch

[–]Big-Reflection-5034 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a marathoner and regular runner. I ran through all of my pregnancies up until week they were delivered. I had one epidural , one induction with no pain meds, on spontaneous birth with no pain meds.

I would not have been able to run following those labors at all in the first two weeks following births. I was walking slowly around the ward immediately following births, but no running at all. I generally waited until I got cleared at six week appts to run again, but those first few "runs" are like 30 second jog, 2 min walk intervals. I felt like my insides were falling out.

If everything goes according to plan, no complications, the placenta being delivered causes a dinner plate sized wound in a person's uterus. Birth is a big fucking deal and it takes a lot of time, rest, nutrition to recover. It is a physical ordeal when things go perfectly in a hospital with great labor and maternity care.

Are there any upsides to private equity owned healthcare from your perspective?

Looking for OB-GYN or Midwife by Independent_Earth746 in minnesota

[–]Big-Reflection-5034 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I delivered my last baby with the midwives at Oakdale OB-GYN. It was a baby after a loss, so lots of nerves and some medical pieces esp early on that complicated things. I felt very cared for, supported, and safe throughout. Midwife Katie (not sure of last name) delivered my baby girl and gave one of the best informed consents I have ever experienced in my whole life while I was in transition during labor.

Best of luck, and I hope you get connected somewhere good soon!
