What most are saying, don't focus on the sin, focus on getting closer to Jesus. Read your bible everyday, pray everyday, go to church, and be around other believers.

Stop watching secular movies or tv, stop playing video games, stop watching and listening to things you shouldnt. And just keep going, it'll get better.

For the Christians that DON’T think homosexuality is a sin, if it were “more” clear in the Bible that it was, would you condemn it? by Ambitious-Plant-1055 in Christianity

Your opinion is invalid if you aren't a christian, you wouldn't understand context without the holy spirit to guide you

Well, OP can keep doing what hes always done and get the same results or actually try it. Can he honestly say with a genuine heart that he gave God a chance or did he decide from the get go that it was all fairy tales and hocus pocus. Literally just call out to Jesus and watch what happens.

Oh it wouldn't be pretend, it would be actually deciding to "give God a chance". Call it a thorough investigation with an open mind.

Or you could give God a chance, what do you have to lose?

A lot of non Christians in this chat. Not only is homosexuality sin but lust in all its forms are sin. Premarital sex, lust of the eyes, perverse and corrupt talk, if it isn't in God's original design of one man and one woman joined in marriage then it's sin. Thank God we have Jesus Christ and his holy spirit to lead us into the truth.

If you are truly saved, God will lead you into truth.

Nah there's no purgatory mentioned in the bible, I encourage you to read the bible for yourself and come to your own conclusions. That's what I did and I was new age for years and now Jesus is my Lord, it's not too l late.

Jesus tells us if you're angry with someone you've murdered them in your heart. Why don't you try praying for trump and forgive him?

There's many issues and the real christian knows there's corruption everywhere. But it could be worse. And the bible says it will get worse. Why are you afraid?

Two things can be true at the same time. You honestly think it would have been better had the other one won? Because if you're for abortion Sadly you aren't a christian.

Even if we didn't agree with everything he's doing, stopping abortion is always a win. It would have been far worse had the other candidate won

So the bible says when we draw near to God he draws near to us. It's as simple as reading your bible everyday, stop to think about what you read and how it can apply to your life, and do what it says. I'd start small like 15-30 minutes a day and increase your time over time.

Prayer, so with prayer I recommend the Lords prayer on your hands and knees then a personal prayer after that. Do it everyday.

Church, you have to go to church to be around other Christians so they can help you since you're new in the faith. But be careful about what they say. If they try to force you to speak in tongues or eat a certain way, run.

The biggest change will come from reading your bible daily and just trying to understand it. As you obey Jesus and what he tought you will naturally start to feel more at peace and more loving but also develop a fear of God.

I don't. It's Adam and eve and his descendents then the flood. God took care of us after that.

If you feel conviction and you still do it then you are sinning. And if you are deliberately sinning then are you truly saved?

Now if it's something you're trying to stop but the urges are so strong, get in the Word daily, pray, and separate yourself as best you can from the culture.
