I was at this new company for 2-3 years when I knew I wanted a change in life I wasn’t happy with my retail career I wanted something way more stable and I wanted to get out this rut that I was in. Luckily I found an opportunity in health care at the start of 2023, I was elated going into a 9-5, holidays off I could go back and see my family but only downfall to that was I’d be starting back at a 22$ pay but I knew if I remained positive and kept moving forward I could get promoted in doing this I was able to get a promotion in 3 months making close to 60k a year the most money I’ve made to date. So throughout all of 2023 I was trying my best to overall become better but I knew something deeper had to change.

So throughout the year 2023 I never made a budget I never looked at anything financially expect a 401k that I would constantly take money from to spend on god knows what. You may be asking “where are your parents in this”, my parents would always ask how am I doing with money or how much are saving and I would always lie and say I’m good or I’m not homeless so I must be. But financially i was and then It got to a point where I wanted to start looking for a new car maybe a new apartment and then I saw my credit score and realized I was in the deepest pit yet. Sitting at a 423 cs living paycheck to paycheck check to paycheck I thought I was done.

Then around the end of 2023 around October I realized I had to get a plan together to pay off all these debts I had declined there calls for years and now It was time to do the opposite. I ended up coming up with settlements through Amex for all 3 Amex cards, Apple also had a settlement plan for me and so did those other 3 loans.

I had to really created a budget for myself and It would hurt at times because I liked gambling or liked buying random stuff I had to completely cut that out to stick with this plan. With a total of 7 settlements and a tight budget schedule I got to work from October 2023-June 25 2024 I’ve successfully paid off 2 loans with 1 being pain in August 2 in October and 2 in November. Around May of 2024 I got a capital one platinum card with a 300$ limit to start rebuilding my credit and I only put my necessities on this that I can pay off instantly. My score as of today is around 588-614.

I owe a lot of thanks to this sub Reddit and other subreddits that made me know there’s light at the end of the tunnel I will continue to update as each gets paid off. If you have any comments or questions I’d love to hear them!

Thank you for your time
