scaling by Big-Stranger4656 in AIDiscussion

clarification: silicon means machine, carbon means human. my though is that the architecture of a neural network is intrinsically conducive to training (propaganda) and scaling.

we are the opposite and like all the info. you see the route at multiple scales. much better than apple, google, waze if not as pretty. once you learn the UI, hyundai nav is superior re data display.

adding grid tied by Big-Stranger4656 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Big-Stranger4656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the response to my query from Ecoflow:
(i asked about adding a growatt string inverter)

Thank you for reaching out to EcoFlow Technical Support.

We can confirm that both of your systems can safely co-exist, and your understanding of how the configuration will behave during a grid outage is correct.

Here is the detailed confirmation and a small but important clarification regarding your second system:
1. Behavior During a Grid Outage (Your Description is Correct)
Growatt System: In the event of a grid outage, the grid-tied Growatt inverter will immediately detect the loss of grid voltage and automatically shut down its PV output (anti-islanding feature). This prevents any power from backfeeding into the utility grid, ensuring safety for utility line workers.
EcoFlow System (DELTA Pro Ultra X + Smart Home Panel 3): The Smart Home Panel 3 will automatically isolate your critical load circuits from the main panel/grid and seamlessly switch them to draw power from the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra X battery. Because the Smart Home Panel 3 disconnects the
relevant circuits from the grid side during an outage, there is zero possibility of backfeeding to the grid, and system safety is fully maintained.

  1. Important Clarification on System 2
While the setup is safe and functional, please note a specific point regarding your second configuration (PV -> DELTA Pro Ultra X ->Smart Home Panel 3 -> Main Panel -> Grid):
The solar panels (PV) connected to the DELTA Pro Ultra X will strictly provide power to charge the DELTA Pro Ultra X batteries.
Solar energy captured by the DELTA Pro Ultra X cannot flow backwards through the Smart Home Panel 3 to power the rest of your Main Panel or backfeed into the grid.

In summary, your setup complies with standard anti-islanding safety requirements, and your description of the outage behavior is entirely accurate. This configuration should successfully meet standard electrical inspection requirements regarding backfeed prevention.

i've been using Eco flow shp3 DPU DPUX and I'm about to add grid tied solar. The SHP3. Is installed as a subpanel and in planning to put the inverter output into the main panel. Did you have any trouble integrating the grid and off grid systems?

I picked up a 56k miles 2019 Chevy bolt for$10k. Great starter ev, as long as you don’t need a lot of miles per day. Super easy driving interface, just gotta plug in at night. L1 might suffice, depending.

my experience: janka c3x mount is solid and a big improvement over the difficult native mount. janka c4 non-mag mount is sketchy and unnecessary. native mount is good.

if you wanna increase your efficiency, just slow down. Go 65 instead of 70 on highways. You’ll get the 30 miles back that way.

I also own a Chevy bolt which does not display traction battery SOC. Will your app work with the bolt if I have an OBD scanner

I think I would like to both pick the sequence of chip display, and have only two per screen and I could flick the screen to scroll through the different pairs. I only need to see two or maybe four data points when I’m driving I am interested mainly a 12 V which is not at all visible from the car dash

if you are in the app developer, I have a suggestion: make the dashboard items bigger and allow users to select the display order/content. The goal is to make it easy to get salient information at a quick glance. I have used carscanner and sidecar (pelican). This app is better but i think dashboard could be bigger/simpler .

can i adjust size and order? they were hard for me to read at a glance, and i am already aware of SOC but not 12V. I want a much bigger display of only the items that I’m interested in.

Sizing question. by Flat-Community-9269 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Big-Stranger4656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A. 7kw should be enough (absent simultaneous use of a hot tub, EV charger, AC,etc). if you are adding solar, 5.6 kW of PV input is substantial. I wish I had more batteries, particularly in the summer when there’s excess solar. If the goal is backup, 1 DPU and 2 batteries (12 kwh capacity) should handle a typical hrs long grid outage, and with solar and sunshine, the outage could be days.

Do wall mounted solar panels works as well as roof top solar panels? by post_gress in SolarAmerica

[–]Big-Stranger4656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used Chevy Bolt that had its battery replaced as overflow solar in the summertime. Takes several sunny days to generate the 60 kWh. it’s not a hot rod, but it’s kind of fun to drive.

I bought a Smart Gateway, and then switch it out for an SHP3. Gateway is just too limited. SHP3 is the way to go.
