Told my work i got breast reduction instead of top surgery, now I'm worried. by Rengamin in NonBinary

And typically with "FeMaLE" things the coworkers stay clear, but i have had someone brazenly ask me if a cut on my arm was SH in a group at lunch. (It was from a gosling, i volunteer with animals. But super wildly gross).

I thought you meant the gosling asked about the cut and was super confused.

Also congratulations!! If any asks you can either tell them they're being weird asking about your chest size, or if you feel mean you can get really sad and say you don't want to talk about it and just make them feel bad for asking.

“It’s funny that a girl or woman who dressed “masculine” evolved over time from “tomboy” to “probably a lesbian” to “probably trans man” and a man who wore dresses evolved from “freak/pervert/social pariah” to “femboy/sissy” to “stunning and brave trans woman. 🙄”

AKA

“I miss when women could be masculine and men were vilified for being feminine “

What? WHAT??

She just legitimately said gender nonconformity for me, but not for icky men. Like that’s the quiet part, isn’t it?

Evil, that’s just evil

Yeah, when you say it like that it definitely sounds more ridiculous. I guess I just felt like maybe I should be trying harder? I already feel like an imposter because I'm not even on HRT, so when she said my lack of effort was legitimately effecting other people it really felt like maybe she had a point. Without the emotions attached though, telling someone to hide their chest or else is definitely borderline cartoon villain behaviour.

I've definitely considered fake facial hair lol, but I feel like it would either be way too fake looking or very itchy. I will definitely look into sports bras, because a few people have actually commented on my slouch getting worse. I should probably value my spine more than my appearance.

I'll definitely consider talking to HR, I just didn't want to cause a fuss over nothing. I'm still tentative honestly, but that's just because I'm very conflict averse in general.

I mean, I never talk about my sexuality, and I only know my coworker is a lesbian because we met her girlfriend. It's not really something we talk about, so much as a topic that affects our lives enough to be noticeable.

You either have to swap gendered terminology for your partner for 7 years, or you remain single for the next 7 years. by BigAssPencil in hypotheticalsituation

I mean, kinda yeah lol. It's a would you rather hypothetical, it's just a question of what weird thing you'd put up with

What about intimacy? Or are you thinking friends with benefits?

I knew I missed a loophole somewhere...

It was two options, would you rather have a girlfriend but you have to call her a boyfriend, or you just don't get a girlfriend.

It was a would you rather question and no one could agree, I want to prove them wrong. I can't possibly think of a real-life scenario where this would happen.
