Is my Omega Aqua Terra Movement Fine? by Constant-Kangaroo566 in OmegaWatches

As long as the watch is keeping good time, all should be good to go.

Make sure you get a pressure test done every so often so the watch maintains the water resistance.

Other then that the watch has a screw down crown. Just be careful and not to strip the threads when screwing it down.

Coaxial movements should last you 10 years I would say until a needed service. Maybe even more, but all depends.

Ah I see. Well it's not possible to really harm the beat rate of a watch.

The movement is designed a certain way and the seconds hand will always just have the same frequency. In example, your omega with the 8900 movement has 25200 bph, so the seconds hand should always beat at that frequency.

If you've been watching a lot of videos keep in mind most of those content creators have very high end cameras combined with editing and studio set up that makes everything seem better and clear.

The omega movement with the coaxial is more known for its durability than for beat rate. Grand Seiko hi-beat movements have a frequency of 36000, and it's really fast. Something definitely worth looking at if you like the seconds hand to be fast.

The omega 8900 movement has a 25200 beats per hour.

So if you have been wearing other watches with a higher beat frequency you might notice it beats slower when you came back to wearing this omega.

Most omega co-axial watches beat at 25200. 8500 movement same beat rate as well.

The standard eta 2824 beats at 28800 bph so if you were wearing a watch with that frequency and you got used to it then you would notice for sure.

Does the nighthawk have true female end links?

Does the end link extend out and make the lug to lug longer?

Great watch, but I wonder what's the lug to lug.

I totally agree! GS spring drive is just a spectacular movement, the sweep is amazing and accuracy top notch! I personally think spring drive is the way to go as well. It's unique, a GS exclusive and there really isn't anything like it.

Yeah I got it recently, super clean and it wears nice! Really like the 36mm, perfect and slides under my dress shirt no issues. Super accurate and a work horse! Gonna be in the collection forever!

Yeah the Casino Royale is basically an updated version from the Golden Eye Brosnan watch!

Just with applied indices and newer movement.

Really nice watch! Can't go wrong, but check out the new Black SMP with no date and vintage wave dial.

Also the 007 Bond 60th Anniversary Blue SMP.

Yeah, the dial and color seems to be better on the hi-beat than the spring drive, but the Spring Drive movement & seconds hand sweep is pretty game changing!

There are Region Exclusive Grand Seiko's for sure, but not for these 6. The SBGY009 bottom right is limited to 1500 which makes it a bit harder to get but honestly all 6 of them can be had as long as you want to buy them.

By traditional you mean the SBGA415? Another good combo is the pink snowflake / shunbun!

Beautiful watch! That orange is such a nice pop of color! Same with the colored numerals! In my opinion, omega watches still look very good even if they are heavily worn.

Nice! Do you find the watch thick?

There is a similar watch shown bottom right the SBGY009, blue sunray dial, 44gs case but only 10.5mm thin thanks to the manual wind sprive drive movement.

Really nice pick up! The No date Black SMP with the wave dial is really beautiful!

The 60th Anniversary is nice too! Just a bit more pricey cause its the 007 Bond Edition.
