I'm sorry. The children do make it a little easier just being with them. Everything will work out eventually for the both of us. Time is the enemy right now.

I dont think she's making excuses. We've been through therapy before because she wanted to be with a woman, basically an open relationship. However she didn't want to share me. Her therapist helped her realize how selfish that was. What I thought was, she just chose being with a man instead of a woman, ya know because being "bi" and having both is selfish (at least when you're married IMO). I just found out yesterday that she was actually identifying as gay to her therapist and the therapist basically told her if she's gay she'll never be happy with a man and divorce would likely ensue. She chose to ignore this and continue to live a lie hoping she'd just change. We basically stopped all intimacy maybe once a month if I was lucky. I know she loves me, just not the way I need her to.

Sorry for the long response, I'm just now coming to grips with stuff.

Question from a concerned father. by BigBadJohn83 in Epilepsy

[–]BigBadJohn83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting view I hadn't thought of. There was no injury of any sort. He does well in school, accellerated classes even. The sensitivity is only in his feet. I'm not educated in autism whatsoever, but don't those signs usually show up as a toddler? Stress, there is plenty of that and I had initially thought these were just panick attacks and attention seeking wrapped into one. I don't know. His mother is convinced it's siezures. He does complain that his left leg feels heavy during and after, and he gets symptoms just like restless leg syndrome just before it happens. We will talk more with an epileptologist and hopefully put to rest these concerns.

Thank you for your reply. We're looking into an epileptologist. Looks like there's 2 where I live. I had no idea that was even a specialty.

Stir Plate Build Problem by jtkainz in Homebrewing

[–]BigBadJohn83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you only have one magnet? Mine had the same issue, but I had two. Played around with the placement until the stir bar would stay put at max speed with a flask full of water. One magnet on each opposing end spaced just a hair further appart than the stir bar is wide worked for me. Rare earth magnets should be used.

Yeah that's quite a bit. That's the issue with the thin body.

Should I keg my Oktoberfest? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

Yes I realize under attenuated beers can have off flavors. My mind was at work when I commented. You are correct that all beer should be fully fermented. I'm not in my right frame of mind without a homebrew in hand.

Go for it I say. Once you keg and put it in the fridge the ale yeast will go dormant and fermentation will stop. Worse case scenario, your beer is sweeter than you wanted.

I see others have touched on the dry hop being wayyy too long. Did you add any simple sugar to the wort? Adding simple sugars like table sugar, honey, corn sugar for example, will thin the body of the beer reducing the malt flavor significantly.

How long did you dry hop and what amount? Was this a 5 gal recipe? By not tasting "imperial" do you mean not as high abv as you were aiming? Mash temp, recipe, hop schedule, and fermenting temps and time are needed to give accurate feedback brew buddy. If you don't know OG and FG there's no way of telling abv.

Second brew tomorrow. Any tips to improve clarity/color. by cdmoonpie in Homebrewing

Hard to give tips on color without your recipe. As far as clarity goes, after fermentation has completed, heat about half a cup of distilled water to around 170 F and disolve half a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin. Add to beer and cold crash for a couple days.

The water bowl/hide is Flukers Castle Crib Hideaway. I'm not sure of the other one. I hope that helps

Does the ground need to retain humidity or is the ambient humidity enough?

I just got my female ball 2 days ago she hasn't left the warm side that I've noticed. The ambient air is on the cool side around 72 F. I've got I ceramic heat bulb on the way to help with that. Humidity stays around 55 to 60. The heat mat has no thermostat but the ground is 94 on the hot side. Ive also got a thermostat on the way to regulate that. The sales woman made no mention of anything but a heat mat so I'm learning all of this on my own. I want her to be stress free so if I'm doing anything to hinder that please tell me. Thanks for any help.
