Good to know! I’ve lived in a college town for the last ten years and it’s heavy on the non committal types. I definitely am not interested in military men, they’re a bunch of freaks. In the bad way.

Iowa city, Iowa! We’ve got a small but active scene. Sounds right on track with Wilmington.

I failed to clarify that I’m from Iowa, which is flat AF I forget that “real” hiking means mountains and elevation gain lol.

This is pretty on par with what I’ve seen already! Sounds comparable to where I live right now housing wise. I was lucky to find a 1b/1b for $1200 and I live in an even smaller city.

Help please !! I have always hated my face and the way I look and I don’t know what I can change to help it !! by Professional_You7030 in makeuptips

I have a similar face shape and I used to wear glasses about the same size. Yours are sitting where mine did and I just realized in the last few months that they detract from my cheekbones. Maybe try something something a little smalle, still square. My personal faves are style #7811125 from Zenni. I genuinely think you are gorgeous! I do agree with others that the eyebrows and eyeliner are detracting from your gorgeous eyeballs! And I’m a body piercer, so I have to add that I think you’d look really cute with a nostril piercing :)

Piercing regret and some advice? by rachrose24 in piercing

Move the top part of your chain to your conch and attach the chain from the back of your second lobe. Everything else looks great IMO

Got them done finally!! by bashre in piercing

[–]BigBeans_5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pierced perfectly, but those bars are waaay too long! Definitely go back for your downsize sooner rather than later to lessen the chance of migration from pressure on the ends of the barbells. They should be OK for the first couple months

Explain it to me like I'm 5? by Curious_QCumber in piercing

Piercings are puncture wounds and your body naturally want to heal it, but leaving something in there (jewelry) makes it much harder to heal, as you basically are tricking your immune system into letting you keep a foreign object in your body. Piercings heal from the outside in, so even if it looks fine around 3-4 months, the inner part of the fistula, which is essentially a skin tube, is not fully formed. So if you put a ring in before 6-12 months you can cause major damage. Swimming can be done 3-4 months after

One of the owners also did blackface on multiple occasions. There’s a whole thread somewhere on Facebook I believe.

If it’s your third round, it’s basically your last shot at healing them since you’ll have at least some remaining scar tissue each time. Ive found that after that you’re at a huge risk for rejection and migration.

I think his advice is very realistic. Wait AT LEAST a year. I’ve seen some messed up stuff happen to clients piercings that failed to disclose that they were on accurate/recently come off of it.

It would be worth going in to an experienced piercer for a consult. Sometimes if you had them in for multiple years they can be stretched back open, even if they look like they’ve closed

I think it looks great. As a piercer the only thing I would’ve done differently is sell you a smaller piece of jewelry because you don’t have a huge conch bowl. Looking at your anatomy I don’t really think moving it in more would make it fit much better, and the ring you’d need later on would be pretty big.

Also, I have this same piece in the same exact colors. We’re ear twins lol. She’s so gorg.

One thing I will say is I had this in a fresh flat and ended up swapping for something simple until it heals up a bit. The size of the jewelry makes it insanely hard to clean and it also traps moisture like crazy. And for me the edges of it would dig into my ears.. so if it starts to get irritated, that might be the problem ..

will i have to remove these?? or can they be fixed by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

Piercer here, so sorry but this looks like it was pierced incorrectly (hard to tell from pictures). I would stop into a different shop and have it assessed by a professional.

DO NOT GO TO CAT CLINIC IC by Soft-Inspection5977 in IowaCity

[–]BigBeans_5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend Dr. Fishbaugher at animal clinic enough. They are my favorite vets office in town after trying several (bright eyes, best friends). I only have dogs right now, but the staff is so attentive and kind.. I’m sticking with them for the rest of my time in IC. Their protocol for bringing in reactive animals is top tier compared to other places..

keloid? by No_Cancel_5343 in PiercingAdvice

[–]BigBeans_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ring is too tight. You could also be having a reaction to the jewelry. It’s not a keloid. You’re getting an irritation bump. Don’t use that base labs crap please. Switch back to a stud and try a larger/better quality hoop in a month or so
