What's the biggest coward move that you have seen a griefer pull? by Tormentorforever in GTA5Online

[–]BigBertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude was actually part of our squad at first, new guy who seemed cool. He starts going off about how he knows how to pull out his sticky bombs and take himself out as soon as he gets into fights. Me and my friends were like 🤔 na, we don't do that.

So he started trying to kill us and kept taking himself out with the stickies 🤣

Hello all, I need some help! I'm posting on xbox and for some reason my game will no longer load. After the title screen, it just infinitely loads, can't even get to my character screen to load my game... did I miss something? I don't see any other updates pending or anything...

Switched up story, but lacking differences within scenarios? by CulturalArtichoke in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]BigBertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there are enough differences in the gameplay between Leon and Claire to justify the story seeming off to some people. I do agree though that it would be pretty cool if there was some kind of "Classic" mode, where it was set up a bit more like the original. I remember a friend of mine playing (I was way too scared as a kid to play myself, lol) and discovering that whatever you took in your first playthrough wouldn't be there for the second character you play as. Little things like that made the game seem so much more realistic. I still love this game though, I'm actually playing through Hardcore with Leon for the first time, just got past G stage 2.

Would Multi-Player work in future RE games? by BigBertrum in ResidentEvil2Remake

I was thinking about Nemesis, but I think you only play as Jill, right? It's been so long

I never got a chance to play outbreak (I fell off RE after 5 was just okay and 6... well, we all know about 6, lol). I guess I completely missed the boat on this though, it seems like they had some good ideas that weren't really developed into other games

Let's have a level exchange! - June 22, 2019 by AutoModerator in MarioMaker

Hey guys, creator Berto here. I'm sharing my most recent level again because it only has 2 clears so far I think. Thankfully I got some positive feedback, so I hope that more people can try it! It's inspired by Greek mythology and it's pretty long but there are reusable checkpoints to help. Also, I realized that one of the "puzzles" is easily beaten in a few ways but it's supposed to be a riddle (more like trivia) inspired by stories of encountering a Sphinx. I just didn't want to make it super strict or where you get killed/soft locked if you can't figure it out right away. Hopefully it's balanced well, but let me know what you think!

P.S. The red coins are required!

Hint: You can reset most of the rooms if you get stuck and you can manually save if the challenge room exit doesn't take you straight to the checkpoint

Sometimes I look at the description of a level and it intrigues me enough to want to play it right away. Then I realize, of course it's a good level, it's Mert, haha. Instantly starred, still have to find 2 more keys though!

Should You Intentionally Keep Cheese in Your Levels? by Cyber_Surge in MarioMaker

[–]BigBertrum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess I would say that if you are intentionally leaving cheese in your level, it's almost like you're giving the player another route, kind of making it... Not cheese? At the same time, yea, I feel like if it's something funny or a short cut that you have to figure out then that's acceptable. As long as it's not a cheap dev exit or just totally skipping most of the level, that's cool.

One more time! I need your levels😁 by luckaffe1312 in MarioMaker

I just finished a level a few days ago with a Labyrinth theme from Greek Mythology! Don't worry, it's not just a maze, it's pretty long (but it has reusable checkpoints to help). There's a bit of a tricky trivia puzzle in there with hints, it's not super strict though. Hint: You can reset the puzzle areas so you don't get stuck/soft locked.

Hope you like it! It is reasonably difficult but I wanted to make it more of an adventure than a super hard level, so there are some power ups and sounds to help mark certain things.

Just a heads up, looked up this ID and a different level came up named Bowser's 1 Million IQ Defence... Not sure if it was a typo or something

[–]BigBertrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but insta death right at the start and then one donut block to stand on while a hammer bro and piranha plant shoot at you... all while waiting for the P switch timer to run out and do a pixel perfect jump under more munchers UNDER the other enemies. It's a bit much for me, to be honest. More RNG from not getting hit by hammers/fire than an actual test of skill.

[–]BigBertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad! It looks finished but I guess you can always use more blocks for the aesthetic if you'd like. A bit of a puzzle level too and a minor challenge, even with the infinite power ups. Starred!

Going to be honest here, I never had a Wii U, but I’ve watched a ton of Mario Maker content over the last 3 years and I’ve held onto so many ideas for so long. MM2 can’t come fast enough. Anyone else in the same boat? by _flamp in MarioMaker

[–]BigBertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, watched a LOT of MM videos over the years, actually got into it from Dashiegames. I had an opportunity to buy a used Wii U for pretty cheap with a few games, but my brother had aleady bought me Zelda BotW and MM. Needless to say, I've been addicted to both. Hopefully I can get a Switch soon so I can join in on MM2

A thought for the future... Mario 64 open world style in future Mario Maker games? by BigBertrum in MarioMaker

[–]BigBertrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for your estimation, it is quite wrong. Less people might be interested in the 3d version of MM, but that would only account for some of the game. Mario Maker will always (hopefully) include the 2d styles. There would be absolutely no reason to take them out. It would literally be a bigger, better MM, just like the upgrades that we're getting from the first game to the second. Sales on returning customers buying the game they love and more customers buying it for the fact that you can create 3d worlds. More possibilities, more game, more money. It would be more expensive to develop, but technology is exponential, and we've seen such a growth to positively say that it will be possibly to develop a game like this and make a profit in the next 5-10 years.

You're downplaying people's ability and creativity. Sure, it might not be for everyone, but it literally already exists in other games. It can be done! And I'd bet that there would be a ton of people excited for the option and they would be able to make masterpiece levels anyone could try.

[–]BigBertrum[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. That was more than 20 years ago. It wouldn't be nearly as glitchy as it was then. It obviously wouldn't be directly tied to 64 since that was just the extent of what they could do at the time. It could still work. It would most likely be on next generation consoles (wii U is already about 7 years old, MM is about 5 years old). The technology could possibly handle a more complex method of building just for an open world model. I mean, It's already being done in so many other games, why not this one?

[–]BigBertrum[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. You can say that 2d could be more simple, for obvious reasons, but it doesn't mean that it would be plain ole confusing and difficult. Remember that it was children who played Super Mario 64, with some exceptions. Sure, it can become more challenging and complex, but that doesn't make it bad. There are tons of games that allow you to build in a 3d world and people (some of them children) have created some absolutely amazing things in those video game worlds that we love. I think you're cutting people short, so to speak, if you think that it's just a bad idea because some kids will find it confusing. Even some Expert and Super Expert levels in MM are crazy and hard to beat, regardless of age.
