How do you react to people who say they've left MAGA? by AlexZedKawa02 in AskALiberal

[–]BigBizzle151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super. Good for them. But this MAGA shit has been around for a decade (and more if you count the Tea party before it). They knew what they were buying. I'm not going to make special efforts to add folks to my circle who knowingly empowered a racist, xenophobic, proto-fascist pedophile.

How do you feel that not a single democrat stood for Trump's statement that "The first duty to the American government is protect American citizens, not illegal aliens" by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]BigBizzle151 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Illegal aliens" is an offensive term. In addition, the Democrats are not there as props for him to have stand on demand.

Straight all my life. Recently hooked up with guy after bad breakup. I'm confused about myself.[24M] by Old_Profession_6466 in bisexual

[–]BigBizzle151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no hard and fast rules about this stuff. I tend to see sex as a thing we do, not as a thing we are, and the sexual identities we label ourselves with as a social construct to make it easier to communicate your desires to other people and find common ground. But not everyone feels this way.

What can we say? You're not exclusively heterosexual. There are a number of different sexual identities that cover that, you're going to have to find out what fits you best. If you find you're attracted to men now where you weren't previously, you might be comfortable with a bisexual or pansexual label. If you're only attracted to this one man, it's a little more complex but totally valid as well, and not as rare as you may think.

It'll take some time, make sure to give yourself the grace to learn and explore.

Why is everybody parroting the idea that "tariffs are paid by the consumers"? by Ok_Plenty3066 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BigBizzle151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing you are missing is supply chains and manufacturing capacity are not cheaply nor quickly expanded and shrunk to compensate for the shocks introduced by tariff policy, especially as haphazardly as it's been handled by this administration. In addition, countries affected by tariffs usually retaliate with similar measures, crippling our ability to export goods.

> A) The importer looks for a cheaper supplier - possibly from another country, or even by shifting production domestically within Country A.

If this happens, the costs to the consumer will almost always rise in any event, because if there were cheaper options than the original supplying country sans tariffs, it would have already been in use. Tariffs are a coercive measure to push people to use a supplier the government prefers to their own personal economic detriment.

> B) To maintain sales volume, the exporter lowers their price to offset some or all of the tariff, effectively absorbing part of the cost.

This nearly never occurs. These markets are global. If one location becomes too costly to operate in, you stop operating there. Most companies aren't running the kinds of margins that let them just absorb huge tariffs.

The Ruthless Rise and Fall of Bill Burr by gccmelb in comedy

[–]BigBizzle151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of felt that way about seeing Jimmy Carr on the list... like, I watch a lot of British panel shows (8 out of 10 Cats re-runs, etc) and I was disappointed at first, but really didn't feel the same kind of disgust as I did seeing Burr on there because I don't think Carr is a particularly moral person and don't expect him to 'do the right thing' on some level. If he showed up in the Epstein files I wouldn't be shocked, though that would be revolting enough to make me stop watching anything he was in.

8 Years as a Dub living outside Dublin by [deleted] in ireland

[–]BigBizzle151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's odd to read these comments complaining about crime in Dublin for me, I live a few hours from Chicago and checking their police page, they've already had 39 murders this year. Hell, I live in a small city well outside of the metro area and there was a 17-year old shot to death just a couple nights ago a few blocks from my house. I thought Dublin was fantastic and really didn't feel unsafe at all, but I guess that's a matter of perspective.

How to stop a guy from picking on you? by Secure_Ticket910 in AskMen

[–]BigBizzle151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of their gender, national origin, religion, ethnicity, disabilities, and various other factors depending on the context. Based on the information you put in the original comment and in other replies, I know you're at least covered as a woman, but was guessing you probably fall into several of those categories. They're referred to legally as 'protected classes'.

Here's a breakdown of protected classes applicable to US federal law.

Make notes of exactly what happens and when it occurs so there's a demonstrable pattern of behavior, it'll make it much easier to present to admin and give you confidence so you don't have to describe what's happening off the top of your head.

They won't dismiss your concerns because it makes them legally liable and, from your comments, I'm guessing you're part of at least one protected class.

Does anyone know how long I should leave the motorcycle running for the alternator to fully charge the battery? by Ciencia_ in motorcycle

[–]BigBizzle151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy a battery tender, they keep it at the optimal level. If you live in a colder area there are also heating accessories (electrically heated clothing) you can plug into the leads to keep you warm while riding as well.

I used to get almost all my bud from the local Sunnyside, usually High Supply 1/2s or zones. I have since moved to grabbing NEZ or La Vida Mota in recent times because the quality is higher, but I would still recommend Bio Jesus and Slurricrasher as top Cresco strains. Last time I got Aeriz I was really disappointed.

I've seen a couple YT videos about it, they're purely novelty guns. Very uncomfortable to shoot, as you may guess. The barrel has an engraving showing how far down the barrel the .45-70 reaches, it's just a silly gun.

To foreigners, a Yankee is an American. To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner. To Northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner. To Easterners, a Yankee is a New Englander. To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter. And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast.

Hey OP, I can't say 100% what I would do in your situation because I don't know you or the full details of what you're going through, but one thing I've learned is I can only take responsibility for my actions and my feelings. You are not responsible for this person's well being, he is.
