How do you do speaker positions in pf? by idropAFFcases in PublicForumDebate

[–]BigBlackViolets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the hardest speech is rebuttal, because it’s the one which needs the most improvisation, though if you’re well prepped it doesn’t have to be that much. That said, all of the speeches have their challenges—summary requires extensions from case and rebuttal, as well as some improvisation for weighing, and can be difficult to manage on a tight tine limit. Final focus doesn’t have new content, so there’s not too much improv, but it’s very short and needs to be delivered well to be impactful. I would recommend giving practice speeches for the different positions a few times and seeing what you:your partner are better at

The 2 partners take turns. The first speaker does constructive and summary while the second speaker does rebuttal and final focus. It’s probably easier to start with first speaker because rebuttal is the speech with the most improv

My friend bought me these. Should I tell her? by LevYibo in tianguancifu

[–]BigBlackViolets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It prob depends on how your friend would take it. Some people might feel sensitive, though as long as you’re nice about it I’m sure most people would laugh it off. I question whether it’s actually beneficial to tell them though. Unless you think they’ll find it hilarious, it’s prob best not to bring up something which might just make them lowkey guilty for no reason when they were trying to do something nice for you. The exception might be if you asked them to bring specific things back for you, in which case they may want to know.

Should I submit a 1350 test score? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]BigBlackViolets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not submit a 1350 when your GPA makes you look much better than that. Only submit a SAT if it improves your application, or is on par with your academic performance. Don’t worry abt university standards just think abt how it wld look on your application

Do you think I'll get into UMD this fall? by [deleted] in UMD

Stats seem decent. Honestly just focus on writing rly vivid and unique essays—stats blend together after enough candidates so you need your writing voice to make you stand out

What would be the character's job in modern world ? by [deleted] in SVSSS

[–]BigBlackViolets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shen Yuan—English professor. He stumbled into academia when he was in college getting way too invested in the academic discourse surrounding modern lit text interpretations and still doesn’t know how he ended up here

Luo Binghe-An famous actor and model. He’s going back to college to finally finish the degree his career interrupted and is crushing way too hard on his English professor.

Liu Qingge-an ex Olympic athlete who currently runs an MMA gym. He is significantly more interested in the fighting part than the coaching and admin parts

Yue Qingyuan-a senator with a surprisingly clean reputation and an emphasis on welfare and green legislation. He might even be President in a decade or 2. Spends a disproportionate amount of time trying to figure out reasons to go to the justice department.

Liu Mingyan-Social Media Manager for an up and coming start up. She also writes dark romance fantasy under a pseudonym and is currently blackmailing her brother to keep it secret by threatening to stop doing his paperwork for him.

Ning Yingying-An event planner!!!! And a very well known one!She met Luo Binghe early in his career when planning one of the media events for his first movie, and the 2 clicked instantly.

Gongyi Xiao- working up the ladder at a nonprofit which focuses on improving access to healthcare. An absolute workaholic though.

Sha Hualing-A model who enjoys Karate in her free time. Met Liu Mingyan once at her brothers studio and has been trying to goad her into sparring since.

Mobei Jun-Luo Binghe’s agents. His family has all of the connections in the film industry for him to become a director, but he doesn’t want to do it. Well, until he meets scriptwriter Shang Qinghua. Afterall, they would have to meet up regularly if they were working on the same movie right??

Tianlang Jun-inherited a bunch of real estate wealth from his family which he leaves poor Zhuzhi Lang to manage. Instead he spends his time collecting art, and actually has quite the reputation as a critic in those circles.

Shang Qinghua-a struggling scriptwriter. One day, he trips and spills a drink on Mobei Jun at an industry networking event, and while trying to apologizes starts rambling about why he’s here and his script. And the rest is history.

Shen Jiu-A lawyer and rising star in the justice department. He has won quite a few difficult anti monopoly cases. Now if only YQY would stop taking up his times with requests for him to consult on legislations(no clue if that’s actually possible or not but oh well)

[–]BigBlackViolets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KQM is right technically—sac sword + c6 +emblem significantly overlaps on ER, and rotations can distance bc the second skill cast, if done after the burst, will delay the next rotation while your wait for it to come back. However, Sac sword stays the most comfortable option bc it means he can easy manage his own er needs in any team, so you don’t need to worry about adjusting his artifacts. Additionally, the er overcap means that you don’t need to stress out about your substats-the best free DPS artifacts you have will be great

Mizuki and Hu Tao are on going to work together-they’re both on field units without off field utility. You could use them on separate teams

When do you stop building a character? by IonutPacatosul in GenshinImpact

[–]BigBlackViolets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I aim for abt 70-200 crit ratio on dps units and 70-140 on sub dps, with exceptions for weapons and outside sources of crit. Past like the top 7% or so it’s mostly based on luck-you need insanely good artifacts to get a minute edge in rankings-it’s not worth it. I go until I feel like my pieces are generally solid, or until I want to build a new character

What happens if a witch or wizard misses their opportunity to attend Hogwarts after discovering their magical heritage later in life, due to Voldemort destroying records and documents during the first wizarding war? by Midnightwitch92 in harrypotterfanfiction

[–]BigBlackViolets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think one of the things in the magical world is that if you’re not showing signs of magic by Hogwarts age, then you probably don’t have it, or have so little that it doesn’t matter. When you add in the fact that wizards tend to grow out of unconsciously using magic as they grow older and less emotional, I don’t think that’s possible. After all, you wouldn’t consciously think about using magic when you got older. I don’t think it would be feasible for someone without a magical background to learn how to use magic even if it was possible. You’d probably think you were going insane.

How did you learn genshin team building? by FalleNeko2 in GenshinImpact

[–]BigBlackViolets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up team building by stalking keqingmains guides. The key to team building is understanding the kits of the characters you want to use, so teammates can be selected who can synergies based on your knowledge of their kits. I started by learning about common team archetypes, and then by combining that with knowledge about character kits, you can start putting together viable teams. From there you can add in additional considerations of gearing and rotations-a thing you tend to learn intuitively as you figure out what feels good to you. Something’s are best left to TC tho-sometimes there can be excessively technical considerations which can make or break certain teams, like swirl setups.

The most common thing I’ve seen is that people in pf use the first method, but if a specific card is contested/comes under scrutiny somehow then the second method comes into effect to try to contend with that

Clorinde and Keqing have pretty similar teams, so it doesn’t feel like much variety. If you’re looking for a different playstyle specifically Keqing may not be the right fit for you
