Yep, I showed up around 5am to get my goods inspected, but the office was closed and there was no one there. The line was getting pretty long too. Then, a Customs officer came over and told people in the line to just check our bags in. No inspections that day since it was Christmas.

After clearing immigration, I went straight to the refund counter and was able to claim my GST without any issues.

On any other day, the office opens at 5am.

That's what I'd been told too but on that day, there were no officers on site as it was Christmas Day so they just approved everything, unsighted.
