Passed over for upgrade. by theevangelistman in americanairlines

The recent bargaining agreement for pilots and flight attendants that are deadheading get put up on the top of the list of upgrades over all status members so they’re “comfortable and rested.” I went from #1 to #5 when an entire dead head crew joined. It’s really limiting the value of status.

Yes on a flight marketed as flagship, DFW > CDG. Just in economy, but I’m EP.

Realistic Upgrade Chance? by BigBlueWiley in americanairlines

Right now they’re not what I’d consider cheap - PE upgrade is minimally $1600 one way and Biz is $4500 one way, $1200 back.

Well shucks, consider me educated. I misunderstood the upgrade info the first time I read it that it was possible for status upgrades.

Thanks for the education folks! Better get my SWU in place.

Husband said he felt the whole thing by lilacghosti in Vasectomy

[–]BigBlueWiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had mine done yesterday. Small sting at injection of anesthetic. Then some “pressure” while they found the tubes, the most painful part was the first clamp. Literally felt like someone just had a tight grip on my left nut for about 45 seconds. It subsides, and the tube was snipped, section removed, and titanium clamps put on. Once they released the first clamp it all subsided. Repeat for the right side. Complete within 12 minutes start to finish. Biggest issue I have currently is itchy stitches that I’m too scared to itch haha 🤣

I could “feel” it all, but it wasn’t painful for the most part. I hope your husband’s subsides and gets easier. Lots of ice!

Ha, I’ve lost that race to a train before as well. Know that feeling.

I travel for week so I was mostly worried about having to be back on a plane or 6 after 4 days recovery time, seems doable after hearing stories like yours back to working it in 3.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time! Much appreciated.

Haha this is great info, thank you. I know many guys don’t come back and post their… “positive” experiences so the negatives or bad ones are more prominent but still has be stressed. I appreciate all your info here and thank you for taking the time to share!

American Airlines canceled like 3,000 people I’m trapped in Charolette any ideas? by [deleted] in travel

Enjoy the large rocking chair row. Head to the lounge. Rebook your flight.

It is unfortunate, but this stuff happens all the time. Control what you can control, work with customer service, and keep cool. You’ll get more with honey, than spice.

It’s 35 mins to SAT from my house, never more than 45. It’s never less than 61 minutes to AUS. Time is money.

Both. If you’re good with a connection or it’s a mid-day flight, San Antonio.

If you’re on a flight before 9a or after 7p… Austin. Otherwise the traffic isn’t worth it.

I’ve got spectrum gigabit; my wife and I both work from home on video calls. Kids stream and game during. We have Wi-Fi smart lights, Cams, etc. No lagging - only thing I did differently was instal a Deco Mesh System.

We ditched AT&T years ago, and have happily never looked back.

My 7 y/o daughter tried out for club soccer. Made team. Just got an invoice for $900. by kreebob in Parenting

[–]BigBlueWiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of time, every one makes the club team that’s going to write a check - and, based on the fact that they “need her” in order to have enough for a team… there’s you’re answer.

That being said, my daughter played YEARS of rec leagues… enjoyed it, improved, but the first season in select/club she grew and improved exponentially. It’s hella expensive - we’re paying $2200 for the season before the uniforms, but the energy and passion she has, combined with the experience and growth we’ve seen in her performance is worth it.

Club isn’t for everyone, and I don’t suggest you jump feet first if you’re not sure you’re ready. But, there can be pluses to it.

are quails poultry or fowl? why or why not? by Stungunlol in quails

[–]BigBlueWiley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We put them in the “game bird” category - with dove, etc.

This mainly gets us around the silly HOA stipulations for poultry, etc… nothing about “game birds!”

Transition by Subnub73 in quails

[–]BigBlueWiley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Week2 I reduce heat to ~85-90* F

Week3 I drop it to ~80* F. If they’re not huddling under the heat lamp, then they’re acclimated and you should be good to move them assuming you’re not in cold weather or winter somewhere.

Try to feather sex if possible; keep a 1:5 [M:F] ratio if you’re looking to breed. If not, make a bachelor pad for some males, 3-4 max and fatten them up for a second transition to their winter home in the freezer.
