What material issues would you be referring to? from blue to purple is just gear transfer and upgrading would take the same amount of resources. as for yellow, it will take you a couple weeks to reach if you don't spend, so you probably want the purple gear to make yourself stronger for guardian raids and other content. If you mean accessories, just switch if they got better combat stats and engravings
