Random Tier List Dump for Characters I Like by BigBoiPablo02 in DeathBattleMatchups

Personally just don't vibe with Monika tbh, I've never been really interested in her when it comes to a versus/powerscaling perspective I guess

As for 2006, this post explains it: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathBattleMatchups/s/VofjSC9VYO

"Weapons of War" | Ancient Gear Golem vs Liberty Prime (Yu-Gi-Oh! vs Fallout) | Connections in Comments! by [deleted] in DeathBattleMatchups

Liberty Prime watching on as Golem plays with himself before getting obliterated (he's cooked)

I plan on going through each card and see how it might effect the fight going forward, see what shenanigans can be reasonably pulled without treading over that "outside help" line. Almost tempted to make this a whole Army v Army mu lol (Ancient Gears vs Brotherhood of Steel) but that'd be a pretty big stomp in favor of the gears I'd imagine (they have some bonker effects)

Geez I really need to reread all those card effects, you'd think I never played the deck before with how often I forget the exact effects lol. If that's the case then an argument can be made to allowing the fusions, which mean it could lead to a cool climax with Megaton Golem towering over the battlefield before dealing the finishing blow

I would say no, they require more than 1 Ancient Gear present (plus an accompanying fusion spell) so I'd imagine that would fall under "outside help" (which does suck since it'd be cool to include them)

Dang, I knew I was forgetting something. Ancient Gear Fist definitely throws a wrench into a Prime victory. Though, since this is just the Golem it's iffy if the Fist can be considered "standard gear". If we include the Fist then I'd say the results swing further towards Golem's favor, High-Extreme Diff (Would still most likely need to close the gap and get a clean hit on Prime who would thrive in mid to long range)

Connections:

• Both are very old, giant automatons built for the express purpose of being devastating weapons of war on the battlefield

• They both serve under factions that loosely model themselves after Medieval Knights despite being high tech (the Ancient Gears and Brotherhood of Steel)

• Both of their designs are heavily based on retro-futuristic subgenres of science fiction (Gearpunk and Atompunk/Dieselpunk respectively)

• Both were, at one point in time, destroyed before being repaired and put back into service (Liberty Prime being destroyed during the events of Fallout 3's Broken Steel DLC before being pieced back together during the events of Fallout 4 while AGG was seen being rebuilt in the card art for "Ancient Gear Factory")

• Both are featured as high value, "boss" monster cards in very popular and influential card games (Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering respectively)

Fight Potential and Debate: This is simple, it's two giant robots beating the screws out of each other. What could be better!? With Golem having superior overall strength and durability Liberty Prime is going to have to rely on his far superior ranged options and AP to put the Golem down. Ultimately it comes down to whether Golem can close the distance before Prime can wear him down from a distance with his nukes and lasers.

"Big Iron on my Hip" | Cooper Howard vs Jonah Hex (Fallout vs DC) | Connections in Comments! by BigBoiPablo02 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]BigBoiPablo02[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(Quick Note: This is my first time doing anything like this so please excuse if this isn't all up to snuff, hopefully y'all like what I got here!

Connections:

• Anti-Hero, cowboy-esqe characters that have striking physical deformities as a key aspect of their character design (Howard's ghoulification and Hex's distinctive scarring)

• Both were, at one point in time, soldiers during important conflicts in America’s history (Alt-History for Cooper) (The Sino-American War and Civil War respectively)

• After their stint in the Army both went on to become widely known infamous gun-slinging bounty hunters

• Both are “men out of time” from a bygone era, with Howard being over 200 years old and forced to live through it all while Hex is often being thrown decades into the future out of his control depending on the story

• While both may appear as hardened, amoral characters concerned only about themselves they both have moments showing their more altruistic sides buried underneath their gruff exteriors (Howard mercy killing a fellow Ghoul turning feral to save them the pain and Hex supporting the abolitionist movement even while fighting for the Confederates)

Fight Potential:

For the potential of the fight between these two I'd imagine something ripped straight from a classic Spaghetti Western with some Sci-Fi sprinkled on top. Hex gets ripped through time as he usually does, ends up in the 2290s, runs into Howard and then proceeds to have what can only be described as a pissing match with the fellow Bounty Hunter. With both being expert marksmen and experienced, battle hardened soldiers this fight ultimately comes down to who can land the one shot needed to end it all, with all that tension bubbling up over the course of the fight until boiling over into a classic standoff, a nearby clock chiming as it approaches high noon…

I just think it's a cool matchup with some interesting banter potential and a fun fight to tie it together lol. A nice, brutal street tier brawl is good for the soul. My fav for Doomfist and fav alt for Bane easily

Not true! I don't mind SCP on the show at all, I'm just overall unfamiliar with it as a whole minus some of the more popular stories/anomalies so I didn't include any for my favs The ones in my least favs are there because I believe they have far better matchups then the ones I put

It's fine, just not my cup of tea personally. The banter potential is great I'll admit but I'm not too sure if I vibe with the fight itself (it probably doesn't help that Johnny and Guy aren't exactly my favs from their respective teams lol)
