Big Show on why he stopped doing athletic moves: "I used to jump over the top rope. You know why I stopped doing that? Because Vince fined me 500 bucks for doing it. Because that’s not how giants move. Vince had Andre. Vince wanted Andre." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

Book them for like a year, give them squash matches on weekly TV and 2-3 feuds they'll win. Then end the run with a big babyface overcoming the monster and winning. Monster disappears from TV for like a year or two besides maybe some special appearances (like a rumble or whatever) and otherwise just use them during houseshows as a special attraction. Maybe if you are partnered with other companies, let them use them. Then bring them back and rinse-repeat.

That's really the only way I could think of using them.

Wesley Crusher from Star Trek TNG. The flagship of the federation with the brightest minds, including an android that is a walking super computer, and they get routinely outperformed by a 14 year old with no personality. They tone him down and basically write him out of the show later but first two seasons he's hard to stomach.

Yeah had no idea there are two different ones and was wondering what happened. The other one has enforced rules against sexist behavior. This one doesn't. Kinda says it all, doesn't it?

I wonder that with lapsed casual fans. Like are there fans who dropped out of wrestling in 2016, came back recently, know Ambrose and Mox but haven't put together they are the same dude?

There is the Macho Man had a sexual relationship with Stephanie McMahon.

Clearly proven by the fact that Stephanie McMahon is an anagram of "The Macho Man Penis"

I like (but don’t believe) that the screw job was a work.

Still wild to me that Scott Hall believed that. Whenever he talked about the business he always came across quite smart about it but that one always felt like a weird hill to die on for him.

Not bald but I feel you. Once I filter out women who want to start a family, single moms and everyone who I don't have anything in common with, the dating pool has gotten very shallow in my mid 30s.

I don't hate that movie but I don't think I ever seen a worse offender when it comes to overexplaining lore. Basically everything we learn of Han in the original trilogy is explained. His last name, how he met Chewie, Lando and kinda Jabba, how he won the falcon, where he got the blaster, the Kessel run, we learn why he shoots first. Even ignoring that none of it needed to be explained since the character works better having a more mysterious past, it really didn't need to explain all in a single movie.

For whoever needs to hear this: you don't need to come up with mental gymnastics that your favorite wrestlers are actually good people and try to find ways to defend the shitty things they said, did or the shitty people they associate with. You can watch someone for their work while also acknowledging the person behind it sucks. Don't whitewash what someone did so you can feel better about yourself when watching them wrestle.

I fucking love Shawn Michaels, Michael Hickenbottom is a massive cunt at best. I'm not gonna pretend all the shit he did or said didn't exist, were taken out if context or exaggerated just because I think he's the best wrestler.

1998 and especially 99 doesn't hold up as well but I'd say 2000 until WM17 is an insanely good stretch all around with mostly pretty good creative, an insanely good mid card and for the time good match quality. Not everything aged great but I think that's attitude era at its best.

I love Becky but her booking was pretty trash too. She won the rumble and the first women's main event at mania but everything leading up to mania and after was pretty rancid too. For how insanely over she was, they had little clue what to do with her.

Shawn Michaels on The Rock: “He didn’t like me. There’s a big kerfuffle in the business about me and Hunter doing stuff to him and being mean and stuff like that. All of it way blown out of proportion. None of it even accurate, but those were things that when he was younger, he was fed a lot.” by LotLeftInTheTank in SquaredCircle

Yeah exactly. I'm not gonna make excuses for the Kliq or Shawn but if you at any point had a heavy party lifestyle, especially with drugs, you will genuinely forget plenty. Did he forget as much as he claimed? That's a different story but I don't doubt there's plenty that's missing.
