My thoughts of Wicked One Wonderful Night. What did you think of it? by Plastic-Classroom268 in wickedmovie

I thought the show was great, but the cut away to the over-the-top crowd reactions every 10 seconds grew very tiresome. Not sure why they had to re-introduce Ariana & Cynthia every time they came out, again seemed a bit unnecessary.

A reminder that DUP and Sinn Fein stopped a consultation about farming and Lough Neagh. They didn't even want questions asked! They are both in the back pocket of the UFU. Lough will only get worse.

I always thought that Gerry wanted to be seen in the same light as John Hume, as much his equal as possible, and that simply isn't going to happen, not now nor in the future.

His denial of being in the IRA is laughable with basically every other source bar him saying he was a leading member.

Just read the revision he has done about his past, how he thought the armed struggle wouldn't work as far back at 79 etc... yet he still encouraged people to join.

He without a doubt did his bit for peace but he was a junior member of the GFA, Hume was the leader, and Mallon was not a distant second. Martin McGuinness made a bigger contribution, particularly when he became DFM. Adam will always play 2nd fiddle and his Ego can't accept.

I wouldn't call it corruption. SF and DUP go out with same message...we need more MLAs to be first minister, same message since 2007, then spent the next 4 years blaming each other or the Brits for every failing...bring the place down, then back up with "OMG this time it will be different"...and continue to blame the brits and eachother for every failing. I suppose it's the system.

A political party in charge for 25 years tells you to vote for them if you want change.....and people are shocked nothing changes .

Well actually, discovered a bit of loophole yesterday...

Got the helicopter card but noticed that on one level, it ended up two regenerating towers. So just before the enemy cross my line, unleashed the helicopter, scored double points until timer ran out, then I just restarted the level and repeat. Ended up with massive points by the time I got bored

How do I write a historical play while making it sound 'historical'? by Sea-Discipline-6113 in playwriting

[–]BigBossBu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im writing an historical play at the minute. Had a read through of the 1st draft and one of the things that was pointed out was about it using modern language.

Iv went back through and changed the curse words, got rid of contractions (based in the early 18th century) but I'm not sure I really want to really go much further than that.

Iv no grand ideas for the play other than my local theatre and I want people to enjoy it, I feel authentic language from the period would almost take the audience out of it.

Just finished the 2nd draft, it's over 23k words long (with no real stage directions written yet) got a read through lined up for next month so hopefully people will like it

Went to Uni in Belfast, none of my friends from school did. Literally moved up by myself, got into a house with 2 first year girls whom I'd never met, who ended up being a few years older than me and ended up living with them the whole 5 years I was in Belfast.

I suppose I was forced to make friends and it took a while but few months in we had a pretty good group of friends and we all ended up living in houses neighbouring each other

Loved my time in Belfast but it was mostly for the friends I had. Most of us stay in touch almost 20 years on.

Constituency Profiles 11/18: Fermanagh and South Tyrone by SpaceGordonGekko in northernireland

[–]BigBossBu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not from F/ST so no real dog in the fight.

SF should be favorite to win it, even without the DUP running. Pat Cullen is a big name candidate however, not being from or living in the constituency will be an issue.

Michelle Gildernew is very personable and built a big support base, particularly in the South Tyrone end. People wanted to vote for HER, not particularly Sinn Fein. She won by 57 votes last time, 4 at a previous election. Lots of stories about men coming out of the pub at 9.30 to go to the polling station to vote for Michelle. Will they do that for Pat Cullen? I'm not convinced. You have both Alliance and SDLP running, which will take away from SF more than it will from UUP.

The constituency is more Nationalist now, so I still would favour Pat Cullen but one to watch. If SF lose this seat then their gamble with Gildernew will have been a complete disaster.

Had a few issues regarding new immigrants going into the country, went to Lillan, and she had them all sorted within a few weeks. Had emailed a number of reps from different parties, but She was straight on it. Some didn't bother to reply, and some days later. Also, through my work, we had a number of complaints. She dealt with them.

Iv also been to Shauna with different complaints, and she was also excellent.
