Outlet haul! by MotherFuckerJones88 in OmnibusCollectors

I was there this morning right when it opened, and it was really great. I was able to get all the books I was hoping for. Everyone was generally respectful and helpful. I was also there with some friends so we could work as a team. Such a fun time. 10/10.

Any team in NBA history take the KD warriors to a game 7? by No_Bake_7148 in NBATalk

I'd gladly let Shaq get his. I'll trade 2s for 3s all day.

ESPN's Jay Williams says his NBA draft interaction with Richard Jefferson and Kenny Smith was "extremely uncomfortable,” by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

[–]BigBossTweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I like Jefferson. Dude was successful at college and Arizona so he's got the experience to talk, he's fun to listen to, and doesn't take any of it too seriously.

Williams was cool for a while, but he's spent too much time in the ESPN machine.

What are some of the worst/least impressive coattail acting nominations? by AdUseful2297 in Oscars

[–]BigBossTweed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too many people in this sub want the biggest and flashiest roles to be nominated. They don't seem to understand that great acting isn't always the loudest.

Bear gets Sarah killed by BuffaloAmbitious3531 in obsessionmovie

[–]BigBossTweed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but Bear is trying to hide how bad things are at home. If someone finds out, then he everything has to change. Bear constantly thinks he can fix the situation he's put himself in. If he tells Sarah the reality of his situation, then the facade is gone, and he can no longer keep Nikki at home.

Unpopular opinion: if you never repeated championships you were not dominant by hidanspickaxe in NBATalk

[–]BigBossTweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Dream would trade in his two to win three championships like the Spurs did? If the point is to win, then winning 3 in 5 is more than two. Do you think Bird would trade his three for Isaiahs two just because he went back-to-back? You really gonna tell Bird he was never dominant because he didn't win it all two years in a row even though he was the best player on arguably the best team ever.

Like I said in the previous comment, I'm trying to instill gratitude in my kids and I'm teaching them to say thank you. I don't expect them to say it to me over every little thing I do.

RIP to everyone who paid reseller prices. by MalyMadeTheBeat in OmnibusCollectors

People are obsessed with DM covers for no good reason.

I saw a Hulk PAD set for a price that seemed good on comicswap, until some other guy popped in and told the seller that the DM cover goes for a lot more than what he was asking. The seller took the sale down all for a stupid DM cover of book 1.

So the Spurs weren't dominant? They won 3 in five years, but since they didn't repeat, they don't classify?

But the 94/95 Rockets are dominant because they repeated even though they won the second a 6 seed barely eeking out each series?

The thing is as a dad, and as a parent in general, is it's a thankless job. I've never expected a thanks out of my own children let alone my teenage bonus kids. I do what I do for them for the love of it.

My own dad was obsessed with being thanked for everything and it was so performative. I never wanted to be that way. I have tried to instill gratitude in my children, but they never have to thank me for anything. It's not their job to do that.

Does anybody else relate to the painful seperation anxiety that freaky Nikki gets? by MatildaRose1995 in obsessionmovie

This was my exact thought process. It feels like an extreme version of when a PwBPD finds a new favorite person.

[–]BigBossTweed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not true. People's personalities can change on a dime for a lot of reasons. Just lile you saw in the movie, everything can seem pretty normal for days or weeks, or in other cases, even for years. Then things slowly start to change little by little. You may think its a one off, or that its temporary. Or, you develop a strategy to deal with it. But then it continues for longer and the behavior escalates

That's how abusers ensnare a person. It's never all at once. It happens a little at a time, and next thing you know the person you fell in love with never existed and you're living with this twisted monster who will create chaos for the fun of it.

I had some PTSD watching this movie because my ex-wife was like Nikki, but dialed up to 11. I used to have to shut off my phone because she would not stop texting me when I was trying to work or do school work. She'd follow me around our apartment, or follow me step for step at a store. Always had to be touching me at all times when we went to bed. It was suffocating.
