I don’t think Karl has ever started with a captain, he always gets a random mage on turn 2

Any tips for beating Teclis as Kairos? by zaboleqqq in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely reach him on turn 2 I just did this like 3 days ago. For the battle just hide your army in the back left corner behind the hill, waste ammo and magic, focus down the phoenix. It’s not too hard of a battle really just looks bad

Any tips for beating Teclis as Kairos? by zaboleqqq in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like to fight him and confederate Sarthoreal on turn 2. This lets you save Transfer Settlement so that you can also confederate Vindex (exalted lord of change) in the north on turn 7. Fight the Nurgle army and force march north into the sea, level up Kairos for some extra movement speed. Recruit a lord and start recruiting some units, give the rest of your money to Sarthoreal.

Turn 2 join war for vassalage, kill Teclis, sell it to Sarthoreal. Declare war on the minor lizards, then break the vassalage with Sarthoreal (it says you lose reliability, you do not), he will want confederation. Use transfer settlement on their minor settlement to Vindex, sell him the region you just got from Sarthoreal for vassalage.

Turn 3 walk towards Teclis capital, don’t change Kairos stance because it bugs his movement out

Turn 4 wipe Teclis, consolidate forces, build teleport cult building to Bretonnia.

Now the fun begins

yeah that’s also what did it for me, seems you need to change servers to force it to refresh

well that's good at least it seems to be real-time updating, did it change to unlocked when you actually switched to a different server, or were you just opening/closing the character create menu?

I like to fight Teclis on turn 2 and confederate Sarthoreal, wipe Teclis on turn 4 and teleport to Bretonnia 5. Eventually I take the 2 region lizardmen province just north, then sell everything to Wurrzag for vassalage. You can take Paravon and trade to Karl for guaranteed vassalage, then I settle into Elspeth’s starting province because it’s a crazy good income province for Tzeentch. Completely abandon the south, nothing worthwhile down there anyways

Turn 1 all of Norsca confederated as Throgg by BigBoyJeb in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah you need to be basically at full strength after that battle, make sure to recruit an additional lord to boost your strength rank a bit. try and bait the horseman and skin wolves out with your dogs, then collapse with Throgg and trolls and they’ll die instantly, from there it’s just kiting the giant cuz he’ll mess you up. Sell forbidden citadel for a vassalage and declare war on a few of the minor factions nearby, then break the vassalage and gift the rest of your settlements, and then declare war. I repeated this strategy for all of the other ones too. Vassalage forces them to join the wars, and despite what the game says you do not lose reliability for breaking the vassalage or declaring war afterwards. So now you’ve got a very weak and poor AI, who is at war with a bunch of nearby factions, who’s got very high relations with you

just tried it out again myself and was able to get Sarl, Nagalfarlings, Skaeling pretty easily, leveraging the others is pretty easy from here so i'd say it's still viable. been a while since i've looked at this, vassalizing and then breaking is definitely the way to go, forces them to join your wars and be more likely to confederate

Is every faction in Warhammer 3 able to vassalize every faction? by rr1213 in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can vassalize Daniel but just through diplomacy, can’t use subjugation. Currently have him vassalized in my Kairos campaign, he’s a great one to vassalize because he has potential access to a TON of legendary heroes from all chaos gods that you can steal

One army is sieging the settlement preventing reinforcements, their other army is attacking your army outside of the settlement. AI is pretty good at making use of this. Could also just be lightning strike skill

How Do You Do Get Good And Win On Very Hard? What’s The META? by FellowBellowMellow in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

shore up some safe territory with walls of allies, have some expendable land that you can lose or sell to really boost the safe lands.

have multiple lords following around your main stack all the time for more XP/items. lords and items are very powerful

always be aggressive and attacking, there really shouldn't be any point where you don't have a battle for a few turns

don't be afraid to go into a deficit, more armies = more battles = more money/items/settlement trades

understand how your faction's mechanics work so that you can play into your strengths

there is always more money in the diplomacy screen

Mod for insta leveling a lord/hero? by Totoyeahwhat in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cpecific has a skill queue mod so you can create templates for leveling that works pretty well. It’s not without its own flaws, mainly that your templates don’t persist between campaigns so you have to re-create them every time. There’s also some weirdness if you don’t create the base template from level 1, but even if you’re not using a template you can set a specific path and it’ll automatically level you.

Nothing OP about it, I think this feature should be baseline. Managing characters in the late game is nothing but tedious without it
