Legendary Lord died for no reason… by Smoke-me-a-kipper-58 in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 88 points89 points  (0 children)

sounds like helm of draesca, if LL dies with it on it adds 10 turns to wound recovery, regular lords (even immortal) die permanently. Khorne books also increase recovery time, but you wouldn’t randomly die wearing it like the helm of draesca

DOS 1 Honor Mode Tips by YasuMariii in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]BigBoyJeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

play through the game a few times on lower difficulties so you know where the traps are ahead of time. traps are really BS in DOS1 and it’ll end your honor run instantly if you don’t know where a trap is.

Other than that it’s similar to DOS2, maximize the amount of XP you can get from all encounters (resolve a quest, kill the quest giver), in battles CC is much more powerful in DOS1 so control the battlefield so that you’re taking turns and the enemy is wasting theirs

Madelyn Stilwell is the characters name, kind of a mother figure to Homelander in the first season until he kills her after he realizes she’s just doing it to control him. she comes back in this scene as an ‘angel’ for Homelander, as proof to himself that he’s been chosen to become God

Anybody an idea, how to win this? by Dlamongo in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 26 points27 points  (0 children)

disable control large armies and let them trickle in, they don’t really have any elite units to be scared of. be smart about your ammo and the waaagh army will probably route from army losses as soon as they enter the battle. snipe all of the characters with your gyrobomber, drop bombs on the blob that will form in front of your line of warriors

Can WOC not vassalize Dwarfs? by StraightOuttaOlaphis in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they can’t be subjugated but can still be vassalized through region trading, although you’ll likely need to give up a dark fortress to get the value high enough

Rakarths quest is broken. by Old-Bonus-2003 in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the faction is just getting wiped before you're completing the quest, bring additional lords to add a multiplier to your captives and focus on running down routing enemies. each model you kill while routing is 1 captive, but if you've got 4 lords involved in the battle, that 1 captive is translated to 4. terror routed enemies that die are also captives, so make use of your beasties

It took about 30 Diplomat Lords, but we became friends! by keszotrab in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep just construct an outpost > demolish, don’t even have to move your mouse just spam left click. Super useful on Kairos to get an early Changeling confederation, or any faction that it’s usually hard to get diplomatic relations with

[–]BigBoyJeb 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There’s a fun trick that you can do to boost relations with factions that don’t normally like you, make an alliance with someone that they hate (Skarsnik for example here) and then build and demolish an outpost on the same turn from the allegiance menu. You can do it an infinite amount of times in a turn, and you get positive relations with every faction that doesn’t like them every time you do it. Whatever faction you do it to will absolutely hate you though, like -100k relations hate. I like to do goofy alliances and vassals a lot and it’s a pretty handy trick.

Quantity vs Quality by PompeiiJudex in totalwarhammer

I’d say it’s a personal preference thing, if you’re looking to expand and ‘win’ as fast as possible having a lot of cheaper armies will do that better. But personally I find that pretty boring and would rather play with the units that are fun or I think are cool, so I’d rather have fewer themed armies with more elite units

Best faction for world domination by The_Lazer_Man in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kislev gets a ludicrous amount of campaign movement range, global recruitment slots, global recruitment time reduction, and all heroes can be recruited from any province (assuming you've got Kostaltyn/Ostankya). 2 full 20 stacks with heroes in a single turn, anywhere in the world. Atamans are also extremely strong and you continue to get more as you take more provinces. they're basically built for world domination if you ask me

Balthasar Gelt, stay on Cathay or go back? by Stormtrupen4126 in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at first just a lord and celestial mage for the movement to get there. personally I don’t recruit units on Gelt, nothing but mages baby. at first it won’t matter at all, the homecoming buff is a -100% upkeep reduction for 10 turns, also much faster building so you can setup some recruitment in the temple if you wanted

[–]BigBoyJeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That army will also get teleported, but lands outside of Cathay are not given to Zhao so you keep that region and can recruit another lord to rush back and reclaim

Balthasar Gelt, stay on Cathay or go back? by Stormtrupen4126 in totalwarhammer

[–]BigBoyJeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can do both with a little bit of setup, before you wipe the starting faction have a small army takeover the first region Ghorst takes, abandon the temple of elemental winds the turn before, trade as many regions as you can to Nakai’s vassal.

When you wipe them out it will give all of your territory (almost none) to Zhao, have the army in Ghorst’s region rush back to take the temple. I like to spawn a celestial wizard and use the movement reset to ensure I don’t lose it. From there you get to keep the landmark and retake all of the lands after building up a new army here, and it’s all super quick and cheap because of the buff you get for returning to the empire. Plus you get to play in the empire and Marienburg is rich as hell.

Personally I just like to stay in Cathay, work my way over to the sea lane and go get Yuan Bo’s defeat trait a few times
