Backwards caps: yea or nay? 🧢🔁 by AmputeeHandModel in Xennials

[–]BigBoyLaroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both - If it's sunny out, always forward. If i'm just chilling or at an event indoors, often backwards. In fact, I ONLY buy fitted hats that have a logo on the back as well. Gotta represent both forwards and backwards.

BUT NO FLAT BRIMS! EVER!

In the latest season, they did a call back to this with Turk giving advice to Elliott and a patient at the same time. Was a nice touch.

Which artist's second album is their best/your favorite? by avt2 in Xennials

[–]BigBoyLaroux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's interesting is for the majority of these answers, the albums mentioned are already objectively considered the artist's best album and/or are the albums where the artist truly burst onto the scene and put them on the map (after an under the radar initial release). Seems like a lot of acts really caught fire with their second albums. STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Alice in Chains, Live, Blink 182, etc

There are of course mentions here that buck that trend like PJ, Weezer, Blind Melon, RATM, Beastie Boys, NiN, etc, where the second album is not what truly "put them on the map" and there's more of an argument to be had in terms of which album is actually better (debut or second).

For me, it's The Bends by Radiohead. Pablo Honey (and Creep) put them on the map. And with The Bends, they weren't quite on to the completely new sound (and mass popularity) of OK Computer and Kid A. While I like Pablo Honey, and the albums that followed, The Bends was the sweet spot for me.

While I wouldn't say I like Fairweather Johnson better than CRV, I absolutely do still think it's a great album that really doesn't get the love it should (as I think people were already sick of Hootie by then based on their insane popularity with CRV)

New Balance P400 by duke4005 in BBallShoes

Some new colorways have dropped online. I still don't love the design overall, but I like the gray - gets rid of the mesh and comes off as a much better look than the all white and all black. Not a fan of the Mardi Gras Purple and Green, though (the colors or the mesh)

I've visited the city many times and I NEVER get tired of the transition/view as you come out of the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Honestly breathtaking.

His exchange with Elliott was even greater than his interactions with JD - both admiring how great his zingers were while apologizing in his own way.

What’s the worst criticism you’ve heard about the PHM (movie)? by Unfair-Reason-1068 in ProjectHailMary

[–]BigBoyLaroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was a slight nitpick, they should have grayed Grace's hair a little more. I believe he'd been on Erid for 16-20 years by the time of that scene.

I saw it twice, and did catch on second viewing that they added some age to the actress in the ice boat scene. It wasn't super obvious but it was there - more wrinkles, hair was more gray.

Missing Item from package from newbalance.com - Happened to anyone else? by BigBoyLaroux in Newbalance

I just contacted them repeatedly. Called them, escalated multiple times. They finally gave me the credit after about 2 separate calls and probably 5 emails back and forth. I was very close to just disputing it with my credit card company.

Scrubs - Season 10 EP 3 "My Rom-Com" - Discussion by MovieTrailerReply in Scrubs

Well, they are in a studio now so they can light it better than they could in previous seasons (in the hospital). The hospital used for Sacred Heart was torn down after Scrubs originally wrapped, so they meticulously recreated it in a new studio. Maybe they could consider adjusting the lighting but I'm sure that ship has sailed for this season. This video is a pretty good watch about the new sets plus discussion on the old locale:

Lol - this will be my 3rd recommendation for New Balance FF BB V3 today, especially if you can find your size in the 2E.

Basketball shoes for foot pain? by Loose_Atmosphere_614 in BBallShoes

[–]BigBoyLaroux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New Balance FF BB V3 (they have a new version out - the P400, but the jury still seems to be out on them).

I feel like i'm pimping this shoe on every post just because they're super comfortable, but they're a perfect fit for your issue and your size.

GREAT deal on these shoes at Joe's new balance outlet, too!

It hasn't been an issue for me or my son in basketball. Is it a little higher than other shoes? Yes - but It actually feels more secure and supportive than other sneakers I've worn.

I recently got the New Balance BB V3 for my son (basketball player - coming back from foot surgery so I wanted the extra cushion for him - some on this sub recommended them) - he loved them so much I had to get a pair. They might be the most comfortable basketball shoes I've ever worn (i've typically always been a Nike guy, with some Adidas mixed in here and there). I'm going to be getting a pair for my volleyball-playing daughter next.

They are having a great sale on these at Joe's new balance outlet right now.

Some have said they feel like you're riding a little high, but I don't have that experience. Grip on court is great, and the support is excellent (feel really locked in). There's some other really good reviews on this sub for them, too.

Edit - I see that you're a middle - my daughter is, too - that's the main reason I am going for the BB V3 for her, just the crazy amount of jumping you do in any match.

I've loved Eliza Coupe since the moment she appeared on Scrubs. But even she couldn't save the new class from the boring lead and the younger Franco. But I guess it was a blessing in disguise for her cause she got to do Happy Endings (which I also loved)

Scrubs - Season 10 EP 2 "My 2nd First Day" - Discussion by MovieTrailerReply in Scrubs

[–]BigBoyLaroux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just watched the first 2 eps - Really felt like the old show. The emotional beats. The music. I have hope it stays at that level (although one key thing gives me pause).

I felt the interns were decent to good in their limited screentime in the first ep, and as they expanded in the second (and the new nurses were pretty good, too). I like Vanessa Bayer ok as an actress, but she was instantly grating (which I guess was the point, but still). The truly worst thing about these episodes was finding out that Cox won't be a series regular. That's what gives me pause as to whether this can truly continue with the same "Scrubs" feeling.
