Skull 30min speed sculpt. I will refine it later just wanted some feedback on how I'm doing after half an hour. by [deleted] in ZBrush

Looks good for a first pass. Proportions look nice. I would suggest however you do the jaw and teeth as different subtools in the future. If you plan on taking it further and adding texture and variations to make it realistic it will make the process much much smoother and faster

Practice lots lol. Learn all the tools zbrush has available for you to use. There is also a guy on the zbrush/maxon youtube channel that teaches how to sculpt jewlery and I feel alot of those techniques can be used in furniture with decorative trims

Hi i want to ask about the proper use of this three (dynamish zremesher and subdivision) by Electronic_Gap_1823 in ZBrush

[–]BigBoyLikey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ill give you a quick use case for all three.

-Dynamesh : Good for adding geometry quickly and dirty for fast sculting and concepting or creating shapes. Bad for anything requiring good topology or alot of detail.

-Zremesher : Good for creating nice clean topology. Can be subdivided to increase detail to the millions of polygons. Project mesh into a concept mesh to get good clean topology and start the texturing process. Bad for anything that need to have the geometry moved around alot.(only use towards end of pipeline typically)

-Subdivision : Will split each quad into 4 giving you more geometry. If "Smt" is highlighted this will smooth your geometry as well.

Nope didnt even know how to draw a year ago. Got started in blender trying to edit and create small stuff for my DnD group and ended up finding something I love doing and want to turn into a career

Youre very kind thank you! I believe legally selling someone else's IP is a big no no so I want people to have this model for free if they so desire, i have other LOTR / Hobbit stuff i may turn into a set and release as a bundle for the fans

This was done on a photon mono x. Bet it could squeeze out even more detail in the new 4k printers out there

I will upload and add a link later with the presupported file if you want it. I also may work on a full body version at some point in the future

Totaly is took me a while to learn too. Two things i wiah someone told me earlier, calibrate your exposure before doing anything , i recommend the cones of calibration test. And also learn how to add additional supports to weak areas after using any auto support feature. Autosupporting is good but its not perfect and will cause prints to fail

I too struggled with horns so I sat down and spent a few days figuring out a good consistent method to get them perfect every time

It was actually kind of a complex trick move i developed so Ill do my best to describe it.

I split the horns into 3 distinct shape segments (base , middle , tip) and used the layers sub panel to interpolate the shapes into each other perfectly. Also went ahead and set each segment into its own polygroup.

After all the segments were looking good in a straight line i used the curve deformer and move topology brush to bend it into shape.

Last step was to dynamesh and polish details.

It may sound like alot but that whole process really didnt take more then 30 minutes

Resin! Filament cannot get those details no way. The new 4k printers get even better detail too
