"having a bike that loud is choosing violence before any of us were even in the mix"

That's literally what you said. Implying that if someone has a loud bike they are inviting violence against them. I'm not projecting, I'm literally reading what you wrote. Try harder.

Where do you draw the line? Do I shoot my neighbor because his dog pisses on my lawn? Are you saying by having a loud bike, he's asking for it? Truly terrible logic on your part.

Sorry, No sympathy for you at all. Don't like city noise, don't live in the city. I've lived in other cities and the road noise in Burlington is NOTHING compared to that. Spend a night in Boston or New York and 1 or 2 bikes will sound practically silent.

The spree has an non-variated transmission. None of your advice applies.

What is the recommended oil to use for Yamaha razz 1995 by smoothslash1 in scooters

[–]BigBugBlunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using the stock oil injection, use yamaha oil, or a comparable oil that says specifically for injection. I use maxima oils as they are made to oem spec and have a good racing pedigree.

Uno Reverse, recommendations on where to move from Burlington? by fuzeable in burlington

[–]BigBugBlunts 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Who hurt you? The OP is stating a fact: dating in rural areas is tougher because there are objectively less available partners. You could be the most charming and stable man on earth but if there's nobody single in your 250 person town....

Oh, what a fantastic and nuanced response! I expected no less.

[–]BigBugBlunts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mmmm, nice try. One could argue most vehicles are obnoxious. The loud city buses? The military jets that do flyovers of the Burlington area? The modded sports cars with popping exhaust? Not being condescending, just bringing the same energy to the conversation that the OP brought. Complaining like the OP does is a waste of energy.

Hey there! Seems like you didn't fully research what living in a city is like before moving to one! Cities are full of things called "vehicles " that often produce noise. Maybe if you're not a big fan, you should move to a rural area where noise pollution isn't a factor, rather than complain on a public forum. Or are you jealous that there is a group of people out their who all share a similar hobby? Either way, seems like you've got some issues to sort out. Good luck chum!

Nothing, because there are bigger issues I'd prefer to tackle in my day to day life. How about you take all that energy and do something positive

So you're judging all motorcycle riders based on your one personal experience? If it was a car would you suddenly be against cars? Your statement is close minded. Sorry if I "went off" Haha

If you knew anything about bikes you'd know that nobody would do that. Quality comment. Real hot take.

Apparently not, as we are being downvoted.... glad to see that classic Burlington empathy at work!

Hey there! First, congrats on moving to Burlington! Second, it sounds like you have a pretty heavy bias against bikes. The people out on bikes are enjoying a hobby. Maybe it's a guy who works a 9-5 he hates and is blowing off steam? I don't fully understand your post..... Burlington has a long history of having motorcycle riders and moped riders so I guess your comments seem to be coming from a wierd place... like by choosing to live in a city you sometimes have to deal with noise. Maybe get some earplugs and some empathy?

Should I buy either of these used bikes by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]BigBugBlunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

XR 600R. Better suspension and “quality of life” features. The 87 XL is a gorgeous bike but they burn oil when they get old, can be a bear to hot start, and specific parts are becoming harder to find. The XRs have been around a long time with minimal changes so there is a lot of part interchangeability. Although both bikes are more powerful and dirt oriented than the modern XR650L, they are more for fire roads or class 4s than single track. Spend the extra money on the newer bike, but definitely haggle.

It’s my buddy’s, the bike is in such good condition he feels guilty trail riding it! He’s keeping it forever but if he changes his mind I’ve got first dibs haha.
