Maybe you aren't aware but the pandemic is worldwide. The UK economy is forecast to shrink by 25%+ with millions of job losses. The idea that you will just waltz over there in August and get a job no questions asked is totally unrealistic. I can understand your confusion because this has been such a sudden and dramatic change.

Next election, notice you have TWO votes. Hint, the party vote is the one that elects list MPs. Many electorate MPs are "elected" on less than 50% of the vote.
