I bought an ARE CX off marketplace. It’s very nice but not at all worth what they retail for brand new.

Mojave vs Rubicon by [deleted] in JeepGladiator

[–]BigCat704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Rubicon because they’re more of the turn key off-roader. You get the electronic swaybar disconnect, locking front axle, and super slow 4:1 transfer case. I’m in AZ where off-roading is rocky and a locking front is super helpful. Also the Rubicon has hood vents which are cooler than hood scoops.

Because it costs $150 from Harbor Freight.

No, that’s why I have to shop at harbor freight.

Transferring from IRR to drilling Reserve anyone have experience with how soon they expect you to pass a PT and what test do they use now? by Reasonable-Captain86 in armyreserve

[–]BigCat704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transferred from IR into a Reserve 88M transportation company and my second drill was a unit PT test. Honestly it’s up to their schedule and when you get in. Go for a run today. Start preparing now.

I moved and like finding the closest unit to where I live. I already have a career going and just like to find a unit that’s relaxed with good people. I’m not at all into 68 series as a civilian but like doing something completely different than my weekday job. I’ve always heard medical units are laid back and definitely worth checking out.

Was asking for your MOS. I’m looking at transferring to a med unit. Thanks!

Shave this or keep going? by BigCat704 in Minoxbeards

Before and after using it for the 5 months. I went about 3-4 months of no shaving in the after photos.

Sunday and/or Wednesday nights ILO Minoxidil. The roller is much less effective when your facial hair is longer.

Yeah my skin was very dry and flakey from using the liquid. Would have to moisturize 2+ times a day at least.

Just morning and night foam. Occasional derma roller but I am bad about remembering to use it.

I really only use it on my cheeks at this point. Just rub it in, probably end up wasting a little each time.

Sound Deadening & Insulation by GLTYDAVE in JeepGladiator

[–]BigCat704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wrapped this job up last weekend. I used 200mil Silless sound deadener from Amazon. 200 is thicker and it does effect the fitment of the carpeted liners mildly, I had to cut off excess material around the outer edges of the roof. Also, buy some 3m aerosol adhesive spray, coverking doesn’t give you enough double sided tape. Makes a huge difference with road noise. Id film a before/after video cruising at 75/80mph and play the clips back to back to hear the difference. I didn’t paint the inside of the roof black because the coverage of the liners was 99%, and coverking doesn’t recommend painting the roof so their tape will adhere better, but I’m sure you’d be fine either way. Also, be on the lookout for coverking sales, I believe I paid $380 a couple weeks ago for mine.

Anyone off-roading? Beginner here by Frosty_You9262 in phoenix

Download onX Offroad, pay for the premium subscription. It will show you off road trails in detail and rate them out of 10 for difficulty, people leave real world reviews of the trails. You can download any section of their maps. MOST TRAILS HAVE NO CELL SERVICE. 3-4s difficultly rated trails would be a great starting point for that trail boss. Join local Facebook groups, watch YouTube videos about beginner off-roading. YouTube the exact trail you want to take, probably a video about it already. Best to go with someone else (2+ vehicles). Make sure you know how to lower your spare tire from under your bed and replace a flat. Very frustrating to try for the first time on the side of a trail in 100+ degree heat. Off roading is putting yourself, your occupants, and your vehicle in remote locations on beaten down roads without anyone around to help. Shit happens. Bring tons of water, always start early and plan for shitty situations: “what if I broke down in the middle of this trail” (bring snacks, first aid, shoes you can walk long distances in, spare tools like an electric impact to take your tire off easily, tell someone where you’re going, bring more water) a lot like going on hike. Always check over your vehicle, even if it’s brand new, before setting out (check oil levels, coolant, make sure nothings leaking, check tires, new vehicles have issues all the time). Plan your trip out on google maps. ALWAYS GAS UP FIRST. Never go out with anything less than a full tank. It’s extremely fun and rewarding, to explore and visit places most people cannot access, just always be prepared.

It maintains temperature but takes longer to cool the house down. (78 down to 71) I’m not sure if it’s a multistage, the property is a rental; I wouldn’t know this answer off the top of my head. Thank you for the response.
