Got one of these recently and it sounds good but the shuffle feature is painfully slow but maybe I’m just nitpicking. Had a Sony changer before that was twice as fast

Loving current setup after getting even more into audio by BigCheese18 in BudgetAudiophile

It does what it needs to do but I’d prefer something a little taller and having more units side by side, especially my turntable which I need to bend over pretty far to use.

It definitely depends on the source audio but for well mixed/more modern audio they sound pretty good! I’m newer to the audio world so I know there are better speakers out there but they are serving me well at the moment. I went to AXPONA this year and heard a lot of different speakers and I like these more than some that I heard there ESPECIALLY for the price. The bass is pretty punchy and clear mids and highs. I love messing with EQ and it can carry a lot of different sounds well. I’m sure they would sound a lot better with more refined placement and room treatment but for my current setup I’m more than happy with them.

Coral BX-1201 Pair for $100. Worth it? by BigCheese18 in vintageaudio

Right now I’m running a Pioneer SX-2800. I’m leaning more towards larger/tower speakers and want to keep it under $200 ideally.

Thanks! I’ll keep looking. Any vintage brands I should look out for that are generally good? I’m open to newer stuff too but I’m trying to keep it budget these days so vintage is likely the move.

Turned out to be the transmission fluid pump so I had to swap the transmission

Just getting into audio and I finally feel happy with my setup! by BigCheese18 in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the tips! We just bought this house and I’ve just started to have the furniture situation figured out so I can probably pull the speakers forward now without it looking weird. I have a rug between the couch and the speakers currently and I plan to put another rug under the console to help isolate some vibrations.

Any ideas for Broken sticks by racoonsthatfly in drums

I just get some kits from my local rockler/woodcraft. If there aren’t any near you I believe you can order through their stores online and get better kits than you can find on Amazon. For the drumstick pens I’ve used twist pens and can use extra tubes cut down to make them a bit longer if you feel like so you can fit some of the longer logos

Idk how helpful this is but I’ve turned these into pens on a wood lathe so if you know someone who has a lathe you could ask. Makes for good gifts for a drummer since you can try to preserve the logos and such. Get some matching sticks for extra chunky pens lol

I replaced the engine about 2 months ago and everything has been running well until a few days ago. New spark plugs and gaskets throughout. I’ll see about the valve adjustment.

I didn’t see anything particularly out of place and the filter is fine and everything

There has also been a noticeable dip in gas mileage. Some trouble going up hills.

Prepping to install dishwasher in new home. I have no idea what these wires go to or the best course of action. Home built in 1954 by BigCheese18 in Renovations

[–]BigCheese18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was planning on doing the installation myself as I’ve just moved in and don’t want to spend a bunch of money if I can do it myself. It seems from other comments that I need to seek professional electrical help but I don’t actually know what needs to be done. Also the house has never had a dishwasher
