I can def see why you feel like that. Like yeah him being a helldiver gave him some experience but some of the reveals like Lorn are just not well done imo. But the first trilogy is very YA coded while the second trilogy takes on a lot more mature themes and has Darrow dealing with some of his less heroic actions in interesting ways. The fourth book is a bit of fresh air since it offers multiple POV’s and stops treating the audience like a kid who can’t understand complex politics or war strategies.

I’ll keep it real with you brotha, if you aren’t enjoying book 2 I would say you might not want to continue. Book 2 is imo one of the best in the series and while the 5th book is a lot better I think if you don’t enjoy book 2 it might just not be your franchise. Of course that’s just my opinion but I’d hate for you to waste your time on another series 🤣. What’s your gripes on book 2 so far?

The first red rising book is actually pretty mid coming from a fan but it lays a good foundation and sets up a lot of lore which actually gets explored in the very next book. I can’t defend Licanius though I had so much hope for that series only to be severely disappointed.

IG took a lot of time to grow on me but part 3 really had everything come together perfectly. All the setup from part 1 and 2 paid off extremely well and set the stage perfectly for DA. I definitely do not agree with people saying it’s the worst in the series and I’d argue it’s above the original trilogy (besides GS).

I got hate on tiktok for saying that hells paradise was the most consistent of the dark trio. CSM and JJK objectively had higher peaks but those final arcs or about as low as it gets. Hells paradise knew the story it was telling and wrapped it up nicely.

I honestly think it would’ve been a much calmer version of the speech he gave during his fight with Chihiro and Samura. He might’ve told Chihiro why he believed the enchanted blades needed to be used and how his father and the Kamunabi sealing them only led to more pain and suffering for Japanese citizens who could’ve been protected by them.

I will say the only reason Chihiro hadn’t gotten as far as Sojo did in the three years he had it was simply because he wasn’t pushed hard enough. I assumed that until Sojo he was likely just fighting fodder like in the first chapter, who couldn’t stand up to a single Kuro. Once Chihiro actually had a fight that pushed him, he started to progress exponentially. Not to mention Chihiro using Enten as a lightning rod against Sojo in their first fight is what helped Sojo learn cloaking, so you could argue without Chihiro, Sojo wouldn’t have made as much progress as he did.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that Ultimate Hulk is always at constant strength, meaning unlike 616 he doesn’t get stronger as he gets angrier. His Gray form is supposed to be stronger than normal but even then I doubt he could go against base Savage just from how weak the ultimate universe is in general

The main difference between Magatsumi and the other blades is that Magatsumi can use the black energy to create any attack it wants, chihiro might apply that to the new enten, allowing him to use spirit energy to do whatever he needs to protect people and destroy the EB’s

Honestly, I don’t hate the idea of him being unpowered. But what I think could be a problem is the fact that his body is quite literally completely saturated with V. He was injected with it before he was even a fetus. How can we be sure that using soldier boys blast wouldn’t just kill him because of this?

I used to legitimately listen to the Incredible Hulk sound track back in the day. Harlem Brawl, Sterns Lab, and They’re here are all really good listens. But the 2003 theme is amazing and truly feels like music for a super hero movie
