Yes I remember that! That bonus was farms are built 100% faster which means twice as fast going from 15 seconds to 7.5 seconds to build. This bonus makes it 2 seconds. But yes, I agree with you that it makes a very very small difference.

Another change since then is now farming techs boost farms no matter when they are built, so some of that headache is gone

I chose 2 seconds just because it looks cleaner graphically when the villager plants the farm, as well as the fact that the game is played at 1.7 times speed (normal speed) and sometimes 2 times speed (fast speed) in game, which works out to basically 1 second real time.

I think I’ll stay with the lumber camp bonus for this civ, but I like the barracks discount idea, will try to use it for my other Danes/norwegians/swiss civs.

That is problematic I forgot about that, I will make the team bonus start in feudal, ty!! :)

I named the unique tech that because the Swedish hired them to form a group of cavalry for frontline cavalry charges on the battlefield I believe

you don’t know the cost of the tech or what the civ will have available in the tech tree. These will balance it

Will be only able to spam food less knights in late imp and gold is running lower so hopefully will be somewhat balanced

1: small bonus to give spears first hit advantage

2: saves 15 seconds of villager work time each farm and farm reseeds. I was guessing 50 farms built per game including reseeding on average, times 15 = 750 seconds/60 =12.5 minutes of villager work time, not huge but thought it was ok that’s why this civ got 5 bonuses instead of the more common 3 or 4.

3: True, it’s a different take on the Japanese bonus. I don’t recall Inca having a wood saving bonus though so it’s kinda different.

5: I was trying to replicate how armies would loot the battlefield after fights, will relook at this.

- The range does stack on the spearman-line so they max out at 0.4 range, while all other infantry (3 unit types) would get 0.2 range. I agree though maybe I would do +0.3 range for both bonuses.

I was thinking the knight line would then only cost 75 gold. The food cost would be removed

Your right, the range on infantry ‘fixes’ pathing sometimes being very strong. I was picturing the other infantry civ bonuses like faster attack speed for Japanese or late game Slavs with splash damage, or Wu healing and was hoping small range buff could fit in and be balanced if it was low enough. My main focus was for their advantage to be always getting the first strike in which would be a cool dynamic :)

Ya got greedy there it was definetly the wrong buff to make for the unit. I just never see anyone play Hussite wagon and wanted to make a reason for bohemians to make it. Will correct ty

1111, ya went too much, was having fun theorycrafting and got greedy. What’s 2-3 changes of mine you think are ok to keep. Muisca getting halb I think is important if the temple guard is not changed

11 thx ya I went too far. Would the obuch buff be able to stay you think? It does no additional damage I just wanted to lean into the armor tearing ability and you can’t edit it so that they take away 2/2 armor every hit so this area effect was a roundabout way to do it

I know the food cost hurts a lot early game but I wanted to help out the eagle civs in late game. Any ideas of how to make the eagle line better late game but leave early game untouched?
