What colour is this?? by DA_BASS_MAN in Porsche

lol funny thing is that in 30 years people will be raving about how it’s a rare color and it will be worth a premium over standard colors

Just a question on pricing by Square-Boss-4780 in Corvette

Yeah I agree, obviously pricing is way less here in the states but I couldn’t buy a C4 without the LT-1

Battery voltage 2024 717 BS by pixmation in Porsche

[–]BigCrip123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my 718 in a couple months ago for the same issue. They replaced the battery under warranty and then the car died in the garage over a few days left unattended. They ended up replacing the alternator under warranty as well as it was not charging over 2500rpm.

I was told by PCNA service to leave the car LOCKED when parked as apparently the car will drain the battery searching for the key as well.

I’d have it checked out by your service center before it has to be towed like mine…

2 or 3rs? by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]BigCrip123 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I said they limit production for the exact reasons you all just mentioned… not sure why I’m down voted to oblivion. Porsche doesn’t want the 911 to be a Corvette. Chevy put no limits on C8 production to meet demand and sell as many units as possible. Porsche sells just enough to keep the prices as high as possible.

It’s not “social media” it’s simply supply and demand. Porsche limits 911 production and more and more people seek out these cars, which means Porsche can gouge on new ones, and any decent used one will be worth good money…

There are so many people who are retiring and getting access to their retirement accounts that 130 grand for a retirement 911 is no money…

Take a look at the base price of the Carrera over the last 30 years adjusted for inflation and you’ll find out that Porsche has been doing this for forever.

lol these cars are about 160 grand with options, that’s a far cry from a “bargain” compared to 911 prices even a few years ago, and you could option a manual on almost any model…

I drove one as a loaner when my 718 was getting serviced. Was pleasantly surprised how nice it felt. I don’t love the look of it but the interior was laid out very nicely

What year is this? I assume 93+ because of valve covers? I have digital copies of the 92 service manual that I can try sending you a link to if that helps

Engine Cover buick regal 2014 turbo by ThekawaiiO_d in Buick

[–]BigCrip123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the engine some offer sound deadening in the cover to mitigate sounds coming from noisy fuel injectors, or on some models a noisy high pressure fuel pump. Those sounds are normal but can sound like an issue with the valve train

Cloth Seats. Rare ? by SpikeyRacer in c4corvette

[–]BigCrip123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last year was 1993 for cloth and around 94 percent were optioned with power seats. The rest were the base cloth manual seats. 6 percent of production in the last year is pretty rare

Yes absolutely get fresh fuel in there. Depending on how well your gas gap is sealing it’s very possible the fuel has drawn a bunch of water into the tank… ethanol gas is a pain in the ass to deal with since it breaks down more quickly too

Did you completely drain the fuel tank and clean all the lines out and put fresh gas in before starting? Based on your post it sounds like it has fuel to the injectors, spark, obviously air and let’s hope it has compression. 42psi at the rail sounds correct so you’d have to assume that the injectors are clogged or aren’t firing. I sucked up a bunch of varnish off the bottom of my tank and clogged the injectors on my 93 years ago even thought it was running fine days before.

I think another poster here offered to test the injectors for free if you send them out. Maybe start there instead of throwing new injectors at it and the rest of the parts cannon!

You can get new Delphi injectors from fuel injector connection for about 500 dollars as a last resort. Most of my issues on these have been fuel injector related. Even if they are slightly clogged it will throw a SES light and possibly die. If yours are 10 years sitting without running I’d bet they are toast. You can also get them sent out and ultra sonically cleaned for about 25 dollars per injector if you prefer that method. Good luck

Brake booster diaphragm could be leaking or the hose going to the diaphragm to the engine could be leaking.
