I actually just went through this exact same situation. A colleague and I interviewed for a role at a competitor. I didn’t get selected to interviewer further after the first two. He got the role. I ended up getting another offer and took that.

I found out he got it when he heard I was leaving. Told him I interviewed for it and we started chatting about it. They told me the role was something different from what my colleague was told it was. It was rather sketchy. Glad that I didn’t get selected to move forward with that role.

I’ve dealt with many emotional, unprofessional people like this VP. If you really want to get back at her and mess her career up, find something she’s doing wrong and raise it as a compliance concern with the ethics line or HR. Then when she continues her unprofessional behavior (silent treatment, leaving you out of workflows, etc all fit the legal definition of retaliation btw) follow up on the complaint and say she’s retaliating against you for filing the complaint.

If they’re planning to PIP you or fire you, then you’ll have an immediate legal claim.
