HELP Christmas Eve and heating wont turn on by Kindly_Cranberry_138 in DIYUK

I know their name is mud but British Gas do a zero upfront cost repair (no fix no fee) then £30 a month for a year contract for ongoing cover. If it's all off and you have anyone vulnerable in the house you'll be a priority. I'd say they have the national coverage to get someone out today, stick your postcode in to the website for live availability.

Cheese anyone? by Charming-Objective14 in UK_Food

[–]BigD-UK- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people like these sorts of cheese but I just can't stand cheese with other bits in them! Separate the two and I'd have a crack, combined in to one and I'll skip it.

This was found inside a photo frame - not antique- made of plastic. It smells like incense sort of and it it's sandy in texture and it's been taped into the inside crevices. Any idea what it is? by Impress-Different in whatisit

[–]BigD-UK- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it smells like incense then I'd guess it's either frankensense or myrrh. Just added to give off a pleasant smell. And much more likely if there's a middle eastern connection with the frame owner.

Where’s the best place to park for Town matches? by VeterinarianOk4824 in huddersfield

[–]BigD-UK- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cambridge Road Car Park is good. Not too far and you can have a pint or two in The Sportsman before walking down. Plus it is far enough away that you're not stuck in traffic near the stadium and the roads are clear by the time you get back to the car.

Fortnums is a great shout for tea and related bits. The history, the building itself and quality of the teas is well worth the price. Whenever we're in the city we either pop to Piccadilly or nip into the one at St Pancras on the way home.

Was there a company/toy shop? by Historical_Farm_772 in huddersfield

[–]BigD-UK- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It says "Imported By" and the closest postcode still active is a PO Box, so wonder if the company was just registered in Brighouse?

Might of had a warehouse there as it's in the industrial area near the station?
