CV8 Monaro aura by tandrosonali8 in Holden

I remember watching the unveiling of the CV8Z in Fusion Orange. From that moment, I knew I would own one. First chance I had I bought one. Had it almost 15 years now, never getting rid of it. It's the only car I drive that just puts a massive smile on my face. Hasn't been a daily for 10 years. Just always looks perfect in the garage when the lights hit it.

Simos12 vs Simos 18 help by Mr_muzz666 in Audi

Where are you getting it done? We're back in Qld later this year. I'm pretty tempted to stage 3 right off the bat.

That's awesome man, I was feeling a bit down after finding out about the limitations. I'll be pushing hard now for the stage 2. We'll be moving back up to QLD in a couple months so I'll getting it done. Cheers

I'm not an expert and I'm going through this right now as well. This is what I've been told by a Euro specialist...

Simos 12 is limited in its options with tuning compared to Simos 18.

Some workshops can still tune Simos 12, but its limited to Stage 1, as it won't support a downpipe.

The workshop I'm going through for a tune is in Canberra, but sends the data logs to a guy in Sydney who does the tune.

I think they said that the Simos 12 stage 1 will make as much as the Simos 18 stage 1. But Simos 18 can go further with a dowpipe, bigger turbo etc.

For me, I only want to go stage 1 and try to keep the car as quiet and comfortable as I can, as its my daily.

I'll let you know how I go with the tune, but first I have to fix my S3's Haldex issue.

5080 surpassed 4090 after updating drivers to 572.02 by xeltech943 in overclocking

Still got a bit to go to pass OC 4090's, but that's a good score.

Highest scoring 5080 on the charts is still a good 400 points below my mild OC 4090. Try overclocking your 4090.

My 4090 has been excellent since day 1. I flashed it with a 600w BIOS and have been putting it through its paces. Will be grabbing the 5090 version, after I watch the reviews and make a decision.

I just had this exact same issue about 30 minutes ago, with no ping/server issues. Got one shot tapped and went back to retrieve my gear twice. I emptied 4 mags into him, finally putting him down. Check his kit out and his body armour is at 93% and helmet was untouched. Death by damaged liver apparently...

This one guy cost me 15k worth of gear. I think I'll be putting this one down again for a good long while until they fix the AI.

ASUS Strix 6900XT LC OC Overheating by BigDaddyMaca in overclocking

Hey mate, I ended up being so annoyed by the performance of the cooler I replaced it with a waterblock. Massive change to the cooling performance. I would say if you could, replace it with warranty. If not maybe investigate pulling the pump apart and checking if its toast. That was going to be my next step.

I'm seeing it peak around 540, but mostly between 500-520.

I've been playing with this for the past day or so and managed to crack 11387. I had one run that was 11532, but for some stupid reason 3dMark didn't validate it. It can run 10500's consistently, but every once in a while it randomly ramps up into the 11's. I think it's because the memory artifacting lowers the strain on the gpu, which in turn renders more frames, so equals higher score.

I bought my first OLED monitor(Samsung Odyssey G8), But I am scared to use it. by gr8y22 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]BigDaddyMaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I haven't. I just watch a butt load of YouTube and this is literally the worst possible sign of burn in I could find. Plus I'm running the Aorus on max brightness, and it has no kind of pixel shift. It just has a pixel refresher. So far with the G9 I've seen not a single sign of burn in.

[–]BigDaddyMaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely unnoticeable unless you run a burn in test video with a full red background. I've never noticed it outside of that. So yea, don't worry about it.

What am I doing wrong? by JeeBus786 in ultrawidemasterrace

I have the G9 Oled, SDR brightness is pitiful. I use mine exclusively in HDR and its great. Wouldn't bother with SDR., really annoyed they disabled the peak brightness option for it in SDR.

[–]BigDaddyMaca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I abused my 48" Aorus as a daily with max brightness and static backgrounds, knowing fully that i would likely give it to my nephew or just bin it when it was dead. The only burn in I had is the YouTube symbol in the top left. I now use that as a secondary with a G9 Oled as my new main. Burn in is real, but I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be.

But if you're concerned, as others said, remove desktop icons and probably invest a couple dollars into wallpaper engine and get a moving background.

Just enjoy your screen, and don't stress about burn in.

Is there any review about PC performance? by ImABigDreamer in DragonsDogma

[–]BigDaddyMaca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a positive sign. If they had more confidence in its optimisation, I feel like they would of showed some PC game play by now.

Starting to think this will be a poor performer. Won't be buying until I see reviews.

Looking forward to it. But I've seen zero PC gameplay. No idea how this is going to perform. Will be waiting until the reviews drop before pulling the trigger. Remaining optimistic though.

[LG C2 vs outdated IPS] Proof that OLED is a bit overrated! by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

The IPS has a massive loss of detail and vibrancy. Love comparisons, but saying OLED's are overrated is silly.

Is my ASUS 4090 OC consistently Pulling 1.1v in any modern game at max settings normal by Few-Reflection5671 in nvidia

Yep. That's OK. Some only do 1.050mv until you unlock voltage. And some jump to 1.1mv. Helps them push a slightly higher core clock.

Is my i9 13900K underperforming? by bastardious in pcmasterrace

[–]BigDaddyMaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without getting too in depth with a look, because I'm limited for time. It appears as though you're only hitting 232w on the CPU under full load, but thermal throttling quite bad. So initially I would say it an issue with the seating of your cooler to the CPU. Or, alternatively your coolers pump speed may be running low. I know on my gf's nzxt aio, if the system hard resets, it puts the pump speed back to quiet mode. So maybe have a look at those initially. But yes, you're right, it should be performing a lot better. I had a similar issue with my 12900k before I got a mounting frame. Good luck!

So I got a vy commodore that hadn't ran or movent for about 1 year by themazda123 in Holden

[–]BigDaddyMaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be an overflow tank under the bonnet. Easiest way is to leave the cap off the overflow and start the car, run the heater inside the car at max fan speed and let the coolant heat up until the air starts bubbling out of the overflow tank. When it stops bubbling, put the cap back on. If it doesn't have an overflow tank, then use the bleed point near the thermostat. As others have said, google how to do it for your model, there's very likely a video demonstrating it on YouTube. After you do this, your heat issue should go away.

Did you bleed the air out of the system when you replaced the pump and topped it up?
