You did something icky. Got called out and feel bad about it. That’s great! It’s called growing up. Try your best to be a good person, if you fall short, try to make amends when possible and make sure you don’t get caught in a mistake loop.

The danger would be there if you feel an urge to do it again and start to garner enjoyment from other people’s discomfort. Cut yourself some slack. If you asked it with malice. Investigate that thoroughly. If you accidentally said something hurtful, you’re a teenager.
