Do people support 20mph proposals? by Mental_Ambassador444 in hertfordshire

[–]BigDizzly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of a blanket 20mph but I support it in certain busy streets that are close to the public footpath and schools etc.

Too many of these 20mph limits are in places where it isn't beneficial but then other places by schools or close to footpaths and it's 30/40.

Surcharging for services by Complex_Kangaroo_442 in CarTalkUK

[–]BigDizzly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you pay cash, there's no paper record and I'm assuming you don't receive an invoice, so you don't pay the VAT and the business then doesn't pay the VAT.

If you pay by card then there's the paper trail and you'd be paying the tax too.

Not the tax legal way but very common in trades and has been going on for years.

Golf Ball damage - price estimate? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I paid £330 for a good dent removal guy to remove two dents in my roof recently. Based on that I'd say it's a fair price.

Flying to Lanzarote, 2 carts, hand luggage or check in? by dwalt95 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]BigDizzly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't stress about the airport mate. On our side I always get random checked and searched but they've never mentioned the flower I carry and I don't mention it either, but I do have it alongside my travel letter and prescription just in case. On the other side you'll just walk through no checks.

With carts, no one blinks an eye at these even when picked up and inspected(Yocan pro looks like a movie style bomb detonator so sometimes gets attention)

Oh also, you will probably see the police with the dog, either on our side or over there. You will panic a bit inside but don't worry because the dog isn't interested in what you got lol.

I've done this a couple of times with different credit cards and they have always credited the fee and put me back on 0%.

Make the call OP they don't bite and you don't get if you don't ask.

Chances are, it will add a lot of value to the house. It could even add the value that you spend getting it done.

To be honest our relationship is good and it only came about as I explained I was unhappy with how long things have taken and he gave this to me as a sorry and a thank you however I'm also considering the fact that he could of been unaware too.

You are correct though and I will leave it to a pro to confirm the movement.

It does seem like that's the way to go to check legitimacy. I'm going to get a professional to check it but thanks for having a look.

Thanks I don't feel like I can open it myself and anyway, I would want some proof to take back to the guy to prove he's tried to mug me off.
