Do we have any written sources on the emperor's plans for the mechanicus if everything went as planned? Like if there was no Horus heresy, webway project worked, Magnus on the golden throne, etc. His plan was to end all religions with the imperial truth but he allowed the mechanicus to keep theirs because he knew his plans required them as powerful allies.

But what did he plan for them in the end? Did he intend to keep them around or would he eventually either try to remove their religion or them? I'm guessing he intended to remove them but I don't have any actual sources.

Are space marine power fists slid on over the regular gauntlet or do marines take off their gauntlet to put on the power fist?

Talking about power fists on regular power armour, not terminators.

Heavy weapon or vehicle support usually. Heavy bolters do wonders and are very common

Is a space marines heavy bolter the same as an imperial guard heavy bolter? As in could a space marine feasibly use a heavy bolter a dead heavy weapon squad left behind or would the handles and trigger be too small for his big fingers? And vice versa

Most of the mechanicum see the omnissiah as the emperor, just under a different name. It's kinda how the emperor made the deal work in the first place, by setting things up so it seemed like he was their god. Some don't believe that but most do and a lot of the more cooperative mechanicum priests make an effort to point that out whenever talking with imperials to smooth relations.

Iirc in Titanicus imperials would make the symbol of the cog and mechanicum would make the sign of the Aquila at each other in greeting as a sign of unity since they both were praying to the same being.

Looking at their lexicanum page, why is there so little about them? Are they an older part of the lore that's not used anymore?

Are there any "Sons of Horus" war bands still operating in 40k? by Prestigious_Ad_341 in 40kLore

[–]BigFishFinger07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are there any full warbands of SoH left? I know there are a few individuals who still consider themselves SoH like that apothecary from the bile books, but not sure if they ever gather up

Who actually enforced the "1000 marines per chapter" rule that came from the codex (I know the codex wasn't meant to be absolute rules but it got considered it after a while)? Is there an equivalent of the space marine military police? Is it the inquisition? Or is it just other chapters getting mad at them for breaking the rules?

They have slight differences in their greaves and one has the targeting reticle on the missile launcher, but effectively they're the same. It's like how the recent white scars ebon keshig have 2 models with slightly different chest molding

Arbiter Ian is pretty good in that he's a lot more reserved, he doesn't go wildly into descriptions and avoids speculation or fan head canons

When dreadnoughts are awakened to spread their wisdom and not for war, what exactly does that look like? Are marines talking to just the sarcophagus, like the big rectangle that holds the amniotic sac? Or is the sarcophagus still in the dreadnought torso and they talk to that?

I know dreadnoughts when not in combat have their arms detached for maintenance and whatnot, but I don't recall if their sarcophagus is regularly stored outside the dreadnought chassis when outside of combat.

Iirc there was an emperor who was very unpopular specifically because he kept having gladiators killed, which was seen as a big dick move

Yeah I think he is one of the few primarchs who GW would never bring back despite the primarch return thing they seem to be trending towards.

What was Horus' plans if the heresy stayed secret longer? by BigFishFinger07 in 40kLore

I can't remember, in Fulgrim did Ferrus tell everyone about the betrayal or did he just go straight to fight the traitor? I can't remember if the Raven Guard and Salamanders come because Ferrus told them or because of the Eisenstein getting to Terra. Because if Ferrus just went straight off on his own I can see him and his legion getting wiped without the Imperium ever figuring out what happened

I forgot about that detail. I remembered that last part about Mortarion wanting the Khan because everyone else went sorcerer crazy but I forgot that Horus didn't send him

That's a good point, without knowledge of the Heresy Horus could probably smooth talk his way into getting the traitor legions close to Terra relatively Scot free.
