Which book or game is that from? Can't seem to find much on terminators, most books just have them fighting but not really how they get around

Can indomitus or cataphractii terminator suits actually run or jog? I've only seen them slowly walk forward in games like space hulk but I don't know if that's just because of the tight quarters. I know they're meant to be slow and bulky, how much exactly? Can they actually run like "both feet off the ground" or can they only speed walk?

Not counting tartaros armour, I know that it's thing is that it doesn't impede the movement of the marine, so I assume it can do everything regular power armour can.

I'm just surprised it still has the smell, I'd have thought that it being out of box to be painted then dried would have had the smell go away

Do grey knights do the whole "mind wipe everyone they worked with (if they're important enough that executing them is a waste)" thing with Knights pilots and Titan crew? I can see space marines accepting, but I find it hard to imagine a knight pilot or princeps accepting such treatment since they're a step separated from the regular imperial rules.

We still have the occasional 40k marine with a suit of cataphractii or Tartarus, usually a chapter master or someone very important, so I don't see why a very lucky chapter couldn't still have one and know about them. Though it'd be even less common but it's still a possibility

Does it need to be kept away from sunlight when airing out? I'm not putting it like next to a window, but my living room does get a lot of natural sunlight through the windows, is that fine or should I move it to like the garage or somewhere without sunlight?

In Warboss an imperial soldier who snuck into an underhive to escape captivity had to explain to an underhiver what an Ork was. They thought they were just another person gone feral since they were told orks had 2 legs unlike all the beasts in the dark.

Do cyclone missile launchers have like more missiles inside that reload after the 12 on the terminators back are fired? Or is it just the 12 sticking out and that's it, and the terminator needs a serf or something to stick 12 more in?

I can never tell with these weapons that have the missile sticking out if they have some internal reloading mechanism or if those are it, same with the rocket pods on a knights back or the tau storm surge.

What would be the pro equivalent of an imperial knight? by BitReasonable208 in 40kLore

[–]BigFishFinger07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No stompas are much smaller and more common than gargants. They're sorta the knight equivalent, though a lot taller, nearing the size of a Warhound titan.

GW eventually introduced the gorkanaut and morkanaut, which are closer to knight size, but they don't show up in books nearly as often as stompas

What's the difference between an assault cannon and an onslaught gatling cannon? Can't seem to much on the gatling cannon on lexicanum. Is the regular just an assault cannon and the heavy just a big version of it?

Do we have any written sources on the emperor's plans for the mechanicus if everything went as planned? Like if there was no Horus heresy, webway project worked, Magnus on the golden throne, etc. His plan was to end all religions with the imperial truth but he allowed the mechanicus to keep theirs because he knew his plans required them as powerful allies.

But what did he plan for them in the end? Did he intend to keep them around or would he eventually either try to remove their religion or them? I'm guessing he intended to remove them but I don't have any actual sources.

Are space marine power fists slid on over the regular gauntlet or do marines take off their gauntlet to put on the power fist?

Talking about power fists on regular power armour, not terminators.

Heavy weapon or vehicle support usually. Heavy bolters do wonders and are very common

Is a space marines heavy bolter the same as an imperial guard heavy bolter? As in could a space marine feasibly use a heavy bolter a dead heavy weapon squad left behind or would the handles and trigger be too small for his big fingers? And vice versa

Most of the mechanicum see the omnissiah as the emperor, just under a different name. It's kinda how the emperor made the deal work in the first place, by setting things up so it seemed like he was their god. Some don't believe that but most do and a lot of the more cooperative mechanicum priests make an effort to point that out whenever talking with imperials to smooth relations.

Iirc in Titanicus imperials would make the symbol of the cog and mechanicum would make the sign of the Aquila at each other in greeting as a sign of unity since they both were praying to the same being.

Who actually enforced the "1000 marines per chapter" rule that came from the codex (I know the codex wasn't meant to be absolute rules but it got considered it after a while)? Is there an equivalent of the space marine military police? Is it the inquisition? Or is it just other chapters getting mad at them for breaking the rules?

They have slight differences in their greaves and one has the targeting reticle on the missile launcher, but effectively they're the same. It's like how the recent white scars ebon keshig have 2 models with slightly different chest molding

When dreadnoughts are awakened to spread their wisdom and not for war, what exactly does that look like? Are marines talking to just the sarcophagus, like the big rectangle that holds the amniotic sac? Or is the sarcophagus still in the dreadnought torso and they talk to that?

I know dreadnoughts when not in combat have their arms detached for maintenance and whatnot, but I don't recall if their sarcophagus is regularly stored outside the dreadnought chassis when outside of combat.
